Think the bi turbo is fastest production BMW with 170'ish mph top speed. All the others are limited to 155.
Very cool car and project.

The donor Bi turbo is currently under a foot of snow, and they can't get it into the workshop
Things should happen next week, or some arses are going to get kicked
I had a nose round this car when it was sat outside CPC when he was in marlow about a year and a half ago. Things should happen next week, or some arses are going to get kicked
My 3.8 was there and just about to be declared dead. I ended up selling it off in bits.
Will be a potent machine once together.
Some progress:
Diff cooler mounted behind rear bumper, seems to have a knock in the accident, but bent back into shape ok
Long range auxillary fuel tank mounted in boot, extra 20L taking total to 110L, yes thats over £120 a fill up
Rad, intercooler and oil cooler off.
All doors, bonnet and bootlid off also.
Also reomoved the exhaust and the main tank. Next job is to drop the drivetrain off.

I nearly bought an 525Xi Touring thinking of raiding the BMW parts bit to either Supercharge or Turbo the car later. The four wheel drive should put the power down a lot better.
My dad used to have one of those, plenty of traction but in standard form with the auto box it was a slow old beast! I've seen it around at various dealers and most recently a bmw breakers, so i'm guessing they realised after 3 years of being off the roads its too much of a heap to sell.
