Sorry i've been too busy since getting back to go look.

Its not ready i'm afraid. I got distracted and bought an E38 750iL .

I'm going to visit it in a couple of weeks, with the understanding it will be running, if its not running, its coming back with me on a traler and going elsewhere

Bump for pics?

Or pics of the E38?

And is Jake any good as a builder?
I need to sort some pics of both tbh!

And Yes, I've know Jake for years

Just read this thread in about 15 mins and even I'm annoyed, it must have done your head in considering it's a 17 year old thread and your kids have now graduated from Cambridge.
Don't joke hehe

But the poor E34 project is rather depressing. It seems people have even given up making jokes about it.
Tell me about it, problem is I'm not really sure the solution is.

What's stopping you sending it elsewhere?
Finding someone who has intricate knowlage of the Biturbo's wiring and all the extra bits that Alpina spliced into a E34 535 to make it. Also, Phil is a mate who has always looked after me , and that makes removing it a very hard thing to do personally after all the work he's put in.

The issues are not technical , not fact as far as I'm aware phil has all the knowlage to finish the project . The problem is finding someone else with the same knowlage who would take the project on

Holy sh*t. Is this the longest-running project in PH history? Almost 7 years and counting to do an engine swap is pretty impressive stuff!

frown what's the current state of play with it? How far is it away from being done?
Engine is in, most of the electrics are done, it just needs front suspension and brakes putting on and finishing the electrics.

Problem is it just sits there for week after week, I don't have time to visit the car, and the bloke is a mate which makes things difficult. He's also good with electronics and knows alpinas very well, I would like to move the car but struggle to find anyone who knows these as well or is willing to take on the project.

Suspension and brakes are nothing complex are they? Get the electrics done then finish the rest at home.
Thats the problem, its the electrics that are not getting done, nothing is really getting done.
