Day 3 and i'm exhausted

Fresh wishbones, drop links and tie rods

All in, just need some 3mm spacers to get the wheels on without chance of fouling.

Hopefully get it back on it's wheels and tracking sorted out tomorrow and finally sorted before the weekend

Pic of my old Hartge Touring from 1990. Sadly missed! Good luck

nutscloud9 gorgeous..

Nice car OP, have to say though I too would prefer it with OEM BBS 15 inchers on it, but each to their own, TSWs don't look too bad!

I'm looking to get something new on the wheel front sometime, the TSW's are alright but rather scruffy...

Wouldn't mind some suggestions, so long as it's avaliable in ET15 and 4 x 100 form smile

Welded up the inner arches, 2 days so far, 3 days to get it done eek but it's almost done biggrin

Seems like a lot of work for not a lot of gain, as I'm not sure its going to have the power to pull the extra weight you've welded into it......... just sayinglaugh

The welds might not be quite show standard cosmetically but they look strong and with good penetration. Don't see an issue myself.

The welds aren't as tidy as I'd like, but when youre welding 1.2mm steel together with a MIG, it tends to blow through on occasion, you have to pulse the weld to get it to fuse right.

Unless you can do better, why comment? rolleyespunch

Got good penetration cause that above fact.

Anycase, front brakes took a lot more to sort including making a new hard line from the ABS to the front right smashfrown

Tomorrow is just new pads and discs on the back and adjust the damned handbrake smash

To be fair I can, anyway are you fitting uprated brakes to cope with the extra weight?
I'm guessing you must be a pretty patient guy to show this amount of love to a 318.

Go read the thread next time.

And if you don't have anything constructive to say, don't bother.

Lovely old cars these, and well worthy of any enthusiast's time.

Is that a Vauxhall Royale on the corner of one of the early photos?

Good eye that man, it is one my friend rescued. There's also a couple of Mk1 Cavaliers and a half dozen Opel Mantas as well.

Good effort man, these things seemed to have skyrocketed in value over the last few years plus they've all been disappearing. Your one looks like its going to be around for a while now.

Wow, been a while since i updated this.

This weekend was spent giving the car it's cam belt and water pump service.

Traced an oil leak to a perished sump gasket, which I'm going to have to sort out frown
Also replaced the fuel filter and a perished fuel hose.

There will be another update with the car.. brand new parts that'll change the look of the car and should resolve a few issues are coming soon. smile

Love the new wheels. The seats are also very cool. Good on you for keeping her going.
