morning all, thought i'd finally get round to joining up and posted after gawd knows how long popping in to have a look around.

anyways main reason for being here is this:

bought for £120 early in 2008, she didn't look so good on the day i had her delivered:

used to be silver, but a paint job by a blind bloke, has resulted in her being named "tippex"
of course sorting her out took a fair bit of effort, and the usual rust issues raised their heads:

as did the build quality and wiring:

but pretty soon, had a new MOT, and tax, and was ready for a little fun:

the £999 ppc day at york, where i discovered my reaction time is like a hippo

trackday at oulton park, where i discovered fast into icy druids is not a good idea...

trackday at mallory, where i discovered i can outrun a 205, but can't out handle it.....

and the nurburgring, which simply terrified me....

along the last 20 months or so, the look of the car has changed from an all white box, to a slightly more original one, in keeping with her years. alloys come and go, as have new suspension, and interior bits. the fight is generally to keep her going, and use her more often (my daily driver is a 1996 pajero junior, very very reliable, but not really enough get up and go...), and of course prep for a couple more trackdays, and a return to the ring with a bit of spa thrown in for the summer.

What a cracking little car! You really don't see many around these days.

IIRC, didn't somebody once drop a Maserati quad-turbo jobbie in one of these in the '90's?

cheers all, this one was bought on a whim, really only went to have a look, and ended up taking here as a non-running basket case, the result has been i have neglected the car i should he been working on:

still waiting after 4 years for me to lay hands and get her back to:

it doesn't help that i have two garages and a shed full of all the bits i need, and a wide variety of alloys to play with, earlier this year i even dabbled for a while with:

155, 2.5l v6, it was good while it went, but inevitably ended in tears for me, and the mrs demanding one of the fleet had to go....
still like you say 2010 and all that, biggrin

There can't be many good mk1 uno turbo left. Good work on the restoration.

I have very fond memories of racing around behind my friends Mk1 uno turbo in My R5 Gt turbo many years ago.

Jai i remember you from my Fiat Forum days! This is my old Punto:

We met a couple of times, events such as Brooklands 07 (i think it was 07). Also at the filming of Top Gear we had a brief chat if you remember? The Panamera episode?

Mike.

Ah the memories! I had a red F plate Turbo i.e back in the day. The diff went right through the gearbox bell-housing one day while doing a u-turn! Was a hoot to drive although you sat really high up in it.

It was the quad turbo from the EB110, but always looked like a photoshop to me. Google Images doesn't help for once...

Never seen a white one before.

Here is my old '86, fully specced with ABS, top of the range Blaupunkt, leccy-windows and digi-dash.
Some good memories, went like the proverbial off a hot shovel.....and some not so good memories, very unreliable and snapped 3 clutch cables.

I had 2 of these, both red.

A 1986 bought used and a 1990 bought brand spankin' new.

Always carried a spare clutch cable and could change it at the road side in 20mins or so.

Good to see the Uno is still going strong and welcome to Pistonheads. Met you out at the Ring in the summer- we were staying in the same apartments- I had the yellow VX220 Turbo. Hopefully see you out there again next summer!
