Hello,

My name is Jeffrey and I’m a Peugeot 206 gti owner from the Netherlands. Four years a go I bought a stock Peugeot 206 gti full options. Very soon after that I bought a Zender GT bumperkit, 18inch TSW Vulcano alloy wheels and some black head and taillights. But after two years I decided to completely rebuild the car. New paint, new custom bodykit, new interior and a lots of carbonfiber goodies! (For complete project see: http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Album=4LNIULBX )

Not a fan of the bodykit, but the engine looks lovely.

but isn;t that a bit of a funny place for the oil cooler? not going to get much air hidden behind that fibreglass...

I know but there isn;t any more space in front or behind the intercooler so there will be a aluminum airduct fitted over the oilcooler to provide sufficent cooling like the picture below:

Looked nicer standard but good going on the engine work, looks like lots of time and effort went into that.

Personally I'd lose the body kit and return it to standard looks, it will be one hell of a sleeper that will surprise everyone!

Love the engine work, 300BHP will be pretty bonkers. Not a huge fan of the body kit but I suppose you have to fit something around that massive intercooler!

I love this:

Engine mockup next to a white sofa. My wife would crucify me if I tried something like that!

You'e dropping a lot of money into this! The engine and technical side looks fantastic but I'm not a huge fan of the bodywork. Are you doing something about an LSD?

Yeah he must have been on LSD to spec that bodykit. Why not go for a WRC kit - at least the aero package on that is designed in a wind tunnel.

Full marks for the engineering effort - it's nice to see a proper job for a change, but the car looks like Jimmy Hill.

I noticed you guys are not a huge fan on optical tuning and stuff. At first this 206 was just a show car with tons of audio and a catchy custom bodykit.

The Wrc kit crost my mind to, but at that time i wasn't planning to use this car for trackdays and at that moment i thought the wrc kit was a bit to much for a showcar. Anyway i still i like my custom bodykit and the benefit of this bodykit is that i have more space for the intercooler, oilcooler and piping behind the front bumper and because of the big gap in the bumper the intercooler and radiator takes more cool air then with a stock bumper.
The rear bumper will be upgraded with a carbon diffuser so that will work out fine.

I already have a spare transmisson in storage wich will be upgraded with a Quaife LSD and maybe some more stuff, but that propably won't happend until the end of this year. So let's hope the stock transmission won't brake...

What would worry me is that the body kit you've fitted is designed purely for cosmetic purposes. You have no idea (until you take it on track) what sort of cooling characteristics it has or what handling traits it imparts on the car. For example, it may produce a lot of lift at the rear of the car in fast corners - not at all ideal for a TA car. It may also impede brake cooling or air flow to the engine.

The thing with a TA car designed to be driven by a novice (forgive me if this isn't true and you're a seasoned competitor) is that it should be benign in its handling properties and power delivery as you don't get a lot of track time to practise. A twitchy car is not a happy bedfellow with a novice driver.

I think that's why many on here don't like these sort of body conversion kits because they seldom offer any benefit to the car.
