Then came the time to move to Scotland from London. I brought the car up and put in into Storage for a few weeks before we moved the whole family up into the new house. Weather got better the further north I got. 440 miles used about £150 of petrol smile

The day I set off was the day of the London to Brighton Veteran Car run!

The bridge that hold the air cleaner in the car snapped. So I decided to go with a much bigger carb and intake smile

I decided to flake the wheels so first had a go at the back of a licence plate to test the painting technique. Two coats of primer, two coats of red, three coats of flake and three coats of clear.

Well there's still plenty left to do but Ross got it back on its wheels so we can see the stance now...

Thanks guys biggrin I'll get some better pics once it's all back together. End of July I'm driving down to the Hot Rod Hayride, a big show in Surrey, staying down in the South East and visiting various car friends and workshops then on to the NRSA Super Nationals and then back up to Scotland. Should be quite a shakedown for the changes eek

Thanks to the helpful folks at Flowmaster I could pick what mufflers I wanted based on how I want it to sound, via this helpful video...

...I wanted it fairly quiet as the electric cut outs will allow me to turn the volume up when I want and I will be doing some long journeys in the car smile

That is exactly the sort of car I want as a daily driver. Love it.

I hope to be driving it to work next week to shake down the changes.

New bow for the roof rack.

Beautiful car and great post! Looks superb with its lowered stance! Any chance of a video clip when you get that exhaust fitted??

The prom must have been good.

No, in all seriousness that is a wonderful machine. Are you fabricating the exhaust yourself?

I blame stuff like Fast and Loud, but I'm really starting to want some yank custom/hot rod kind of thing in my life and this thread hasn't helped. Awesomely cool car sir, I like it a lot. I don't know why I like it a lot, but I just do. hehe

Thanks guys the Donut Shop is in New Malden, on the A3.

Well we've had a bit of trouble as the back was so low it was sitting on the bump stops once it settled. So the old springs have gone back on for now for my road trip. Needs the tracking doing yet but it lives! Here's a video that Ross has posted up...

Great thread, and photos too (seen your stuff on RnS as well).

Beach Tree caff is good too; we were the last year when holidaying in Perthshire.

Keep the updates coming tongue out

Fantastic car, and great thread. Loving all the picture updates.

Did you end up using Car Storage Scotland to store the Chevy for a few weeks then? I see a pic above with the car storage 'bubbles' in the background and I remember (vaguely!) recommending CSS to you last year.
