Right let's get this up to date.

After a last minute rush the car got back to me on Wednesday night. There has been a problem with the power steering pump so we have by passed it with a belt to just the altenator, heavy to park but motorway driving is cool. I had the 40 mile drive home to make sure everything was all good before setting off on my trip, and it was.

So Friday morning I loaded up and hit the road at 5.30am from Dunblane in Scotland.

Plenty of stops for this...

Time to check out the new stance...

About 100 miles in to the journey the stereo packed in. Another stop for one of these...

and I managed to fix a loose connection and get some sounds again.

Traffic was pretty good for over 400 miles, then I hit the M25 that runs around London and it took an hour and a half to get the last 40 miles.

Then I arrived at the sold out Hot Rod Hayride biggrin Just as I pulled up outside a couple of friends were arriving by taxi so I gave them a lift into the show smile

It used a little oil and £150 of petrol for the first 440 miles of my trip.

I stayed fairly locally and went to visit Miles at Jackhammer Speed Shop to order some bits and hang out in his awesome shop. My friend Simon, Nefarious Pinstriping, came along to add some lines to my rear quarter windows and stripe a pedal car I picked up for my son at the weekend. Racked up another 50 miles today.

Today I travelled down to Valley Gas Speed shop to do a shoot with Missy Malone and a bad ass Model A. Valley Gas is a really impressive shop, very busy with some top work going on.

This is Jimmy who runs it...

1500 miles completed in the 57, made it home in one piece!

Used about £470 of fuel

5 litres of oil

Some fun and games included:

Gear linkage going over centre and jamming

Throttle jamming open

Boot (trunk) refusing to open

The most bizarre noise from the altenator, which kept working and then the noise went away 500 miles later.

Stereo working intermittantly and then I blew a speaker

Rear number plate fell off but was resting on the bumper when I stopped for fuel

A great adventure!

Beautiful car and great post! Looks superb with its lowered stance! Any chance of a video clip when you get that exhaust fitted??

But, exciting development coming up as I've just dropped it off at Deadline Paint and Body tonight in Tillicoutry, where the roof will be getting flaked and candied. Very exciting.
