Very nice, I would love one in that colour combination, I think you have spent more on that car than I have on all my five Alfas added together.

Please dont, itll make me cry!!

Honestly it got to the point where I had to make a decision with it about 2yrs ago; keep or scrap!

Decided to keep her and spend what may.....

The daft thing is she is not really worth anything at all to sell, so I never will. Plans being to keep her forever and in 20yrs time or so things like service history arent going to affect the value. They are brilliant cars but need a LOT of maintenance!
Sorry paperbaghehe

I do actually know what you mean, I had an italian car as my first motor. I worked in the motor trade at the time, still, in the 12 months i owned it I spent as much as i paid for the damn thing in maintainence. Made my pocket hurt.

Looks great though, I was recently looking at 156's. Decided if i was to get one, it would need red leather and black paint. smile

I saw the luxauto.lu images and thought another Lux resident was on here ... perhaps there is/are, but it's not you.

Good job on keeping the car immaculate!

I've spent some silly (actually unneccessary) amounts of money on my car, mainly as a result of crap "rules" at Luxembourg's Controle Technique.

Just repeat: "It WILL be worth it. It WILL be worth it ..." That's what I do!

On the upside though you have (with the roof down) what i consider one of the best looking modern convertables on the road, in a brilliant colour. Get the roof down and enjoy it!

i feel your pain, when i had mine several years ago, it cost the company i worked for £19k in 9 months in maintenance alone, it was ridiculous; i had an open ended appointment at the dealers for every friday morning, i only ever missed one due to nothing new breaking/rattling/squeaking/whining over the course of the week.

Crikey, I had one quite a few years ago (before the S2000) and i ragged it to death for 3-4 years, and nothing went wrong, apart from the dealer messing up the sump plug.

I must have been lucky.

I like your style Euroboy. I have a similar affliction, but it relates to German cars rather than Alfas.

I always end up spending an inordinate amount of money getting the cars perfect after I've bought them.

Keep it going. I find it's best not to add up the expenditure.

In 20 years time it might start appreciating in value. Still nowhere near what you will have spent, you must be mad. Nice car.

The most entertaining thread on ph at the moment.

Granted you are certifiable but in a way most, if not all on here will understand.

Keep going as I'm really enjoying reading about it all. It's like a car version of Triggers broom!

Greetings from The Bourg!

Wow, those are some updates, euroboy .... how many countries has this car been registered in now? Its chassis number must be known all over Europe? laugh

I'm surprised that such a simple modification to the intake has made such a difference to the way she responds. You made this recommendation to me when I was looking towards an Autodelta intake for the V6, not sure I could do this mod myself as I like my engine bay to look as close to perfect as my clumsy hands can manage!

Why the suction to remove oil? Is it just the ease of the change, or a seized sump plug? I'm sure my 147 had a similar problem.
