Look like they're sintered or P/M from appearance, although it's marked ductile iron on the other side. Maybe heat treated too looking at the teeth.
Anyway.....I got bored, version 4 with a bit of yellow chromate and some of Homer's 'speed holes'
I reckon that's a winner without going silly on machining time. Best get it made.

More odds 'n' sods ticked off the list, this time it was the Magic Box of Ultimate Power!
Has those electrikery pixies inside. Aligns electrons in the wiring. Obviously that means it's worth at least 30bhp.
Alternatively, might just be a soft starter/fan speed controller to reduce the electrical load spikes when the fans fire up. Your choice. The pixies are more fun.
Also means they can be left on low speed just to dissipate engine bay heat in the pits instead of going flat out SO YOU CAN'T HEAR. CHECK WHAT? THE FANS ARE STILL ON, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!

Right, pulleys all finished off and bit of a tickle on the faces to remove the PCD marking lines (shinier, and 2 grams lighter, obviously worth it), fitted up and they're as true as I can measure, even via a laser, proper job!
The magic box of pixies works like a charm so need to tidy the wiring and pop some plugs on the end of it so it can stay permanently fitted, front bumper is finished and welded up at last too with the wing fittings - all going in a box to the platers later with some beer tokens.
Trying to work out where the hell to fit a spare wheel now so we can go do cross country events in France. And then when we've worked that out, we're going to figure out how to get a wheel to fit the front and the rear, since we have different offsets, bores and 5-stud on the front vs 6 on the rear.

Small pulley brazed up - the heat required discoloured and burn off the protective layer of oil on the steels - which mean the cast iron on the pulley rusted before my eyes where my fingerprints were - not much good even for mockup, so I raided my cocktails bar (Careful what you drink in my house )....back in black and shiny again, crisis averted

The guy that was sorting the fibreglass bonnet out has vanished into the aether so we've put that bonnet to one side (as it's full of filler and sealing bits to take a mould from), really haven't got time to be knocking moulds up ourselves at the minute so out comes the ally sheet and another bonnet made just to tide us over so we're not taking another 6 months to get it moving.

It's a case of it's ready when it's ready now, we've both got other commitments lately so it's just snatching a few hours here and there - watched too many deadlines disappear over the past couple of years!I can't wait to see this in action. Anyway, once the dry sump pump comes back and bits from plating there's only really the hydraulic pipework to finish off that's stopping it from having some runs up and down to bed things in - have a leak on one of the new ones so that's got to come out, couple of old lines at the front that are being replaced, etc.
The new rear springs are here too so we'll sit her on those this week and see how she looks.
Not much to see so no pictures this time around - mainly been sorting a customer car out with some upgrades, so little work on ours - anyway, the rest of the pipework has been measured up so any temporary bits can be replaced along with getting the proper brake lines in and fitting bleeds to the fiddle brakes, etc.
Whilst they get made up to size everything else is coming out to weld some small lug washers around the pipe runs to secure them to, at the same time a pair of a-pillar support bars is going in to stiffen the cab and some gussets in the side and roof of the cab are going in to make it legal for French racing regs.
We'll crack on with the new front mudguard mounts at the same time and with those bits out of the way the frame is getting blasted and painted ready to go back together.
