I don't think I was too far out on the CAD render for the dry sump pulley either, back from plating:

biggrin

Need to make new pump spacers now though, as the eagle eyed may spot.

A-pillar reinforcement and it's gussets are done, car looks a lot lower without it's normal 96 roof scoops wink

And roof gusseted at the same time - overkill really up there but regs is regs:

I'd like to get the car going, never mind the thread hehe

Sanding down for paint shortly, that's going to be a fun job.
Well, I say fun...

Right, but I'd make it lighter and less tonka-toy looking, unless there's a reason it has to be so chunky?

Remember, it's much easier and more enjoyable saving the weight and spending the money on sexy lightweight metal bits than it is spending it on a gym membership biggrin

Needs some strength/stiffness to it as the activation pull on it is pretty high to prevent any accidental movement in ruts, etc, or when the steering gets snatched from a rock impact, etc.
Same for the size of them - need to grab it with gloves on whilst bouncing all over the place to pull a mechanical link, far different proposition to a careful planned movement against a tiny microswitch on a tarmac track car.

Right. More surface area for "grabbing" or "snatching" (whatever it is that you guys do biggrin).

Though, as mentioned above, I might make it a little "less".

Think it's going to be the flat paddle then, bit more consistent to grab than the tube one.

That's nice. I imagine they're fairly long throw to prevent accidental pulls?

About 3" of pull biggrin
And plenty of force, hence the stiffening ribs.

Racks repaired today, done the same to ours as well (well, similar, countersunk bolted to the top rather than the sides) as it had some wear starting on the casing, although nothing on the teeth.

And we've just finished off making the new dashboard, it's much better than the old one, but unfortunately muggins here forgot to get a photograph, as it was about 1am by the time we locked up to come home - I'll get one in the morning.
The cylinders and plumbing have arrived for the fiddle brakes so tommorow we'll crack on with making those - probably won't finish it as I have other cars in the workshop for jobs atm and some need to be done in the morning asap - but should get the plates cut if nothing else.

New dashboard:

Obviously it'll have to be walnut veneer down the middle, just can't decide whether to go with plain or quilted leather on the outer wink

Quilted, surely - but swerve the contrast stitching.

How is the grot kept out of that rack?

The ram plate sits over the top with a gasket and boots on the end.

If I can't have contrasting stitching can I least have the dials engine turned?
