And sorted. Could just do with finding some wheels with another inch of offset, unfortunately the only thing around are from compomotive and speedline, and they weigh a damned ton

Ed's on with welding the other side up at the minute, but we've currently got this in having some suspension work too - it was originally just for damper revalving, but ended up with the front axle being replaced, steering arm, panhard rod and bumpstops altered, and springs changed, hopefully along with a few brake and steering tweaks.
Nothing is ever a straightforward job eh!

Well, it should be yes, but I don't think we'll be pushing hard for a while as there's going to be so much to dial back in given how much the car's changed - although that doesn't mean it's not going to get full beans on the loud pedal
First event this year is 23rd March at Walters Arena, so it's going to be tight as to whether it's up and running - we haven't even got a set of rear tyres, or brake pads (I've still got the brake calipers in bits!), etc, yet, but still possible at the minute.
Such as the rear wing, etc, will have to be mid-season upgrades because they're going to take too much time out of us doing the more vital parts of the car.

Do you have link to an events list, would be interested in spectating during the year if there is one reasonable distance from me. 07/09/2014 - Sweet Lamb Rally Complex (Comp Safari, fast rally tracks and some rough cross country) - Mid Wales

Few car shows and trackdays in between maybe.
We're hoping to do a few of the beach events/stadium races with REORRS too, but we don't know about eligibility until the rules get sorted out - getting a bit late notice to modify the car/frame to suit.

It's you! Stop pressing F5! Been machining the secondary torsion bars down for some new bearings and inserts so they should go back on over the weekend, new front damper hoses and some hydraulic couplings are getting picked up tommorow so I'll pull the dampers apart this week, fit the new hoses and shiny Penske parts then spend 96 days trying to bleed all the air out of the system
Engine and gearbox will be back in early next week too and everything is being built up properly this time with all the correct bolts and spacers rather than mockup stuff, plenty of Loctite and Nordlocks, all ready for pressing that start button for the first time and moving under her own steam again...I'm starting to feel like a kid the week before Christmas

I told him we'd fixed his ride and handling issues he was having with the beam axles....Nothing is ever a straightforward job eh!

Well, with the engine in, cage on, seats, wheels, tyres, etc, all back on, we weighed it whilst we had the scales out for another car, it's had all the new front suspension since the last time we weighed it (lost about 20kg there), but obviously the new engine and charger added 40kg to the rear of the car, and the new arms are longer and wider, driveshafts are wider, etc, but we have save a lot of weight by chopping out as much redundant bracketry as we could/combining brackets to do more than one job or remaking them in ally.
Still, I was still surprised by the weight, even bearing in mind there's still oil/fuel/water and the rear bonnet/mudguards to go on...looks like the all up race weight even with 2 people in overalls and lids, full tank of fuel + fluids is going to end up about 920kg area, give or take 20kg.
