still incredibly impressive chap, so what's the job list looking like now?
Get it serviced & put it in for an MoT to see what it needs. Expecting at least £300 worth of welding, once that's done and I have some spare money it will be going in to get all the cosmetical work done.Just stumbled across this thread and looked at your website. Good on you Kamil! If only more kids were this way inclined these days.
Also I wasnt surprised to see you were Eastern European...much more likely to be "old school" and prepared to get stuck into a project like this (and be entrepreneurial) than the current crop of chavtastic, wannabeamerican, me me me tards that seem to represent a large portion of UK born youth.
Well done chap. Nice looking motor you have there. Bet you cant wait to get to 17 to fully enjoy it

It was when he had to stop for a nice cup of tea that I became suspicious.
Doesn't matter how old you are, when you're working on an old car you HAVE to stop for a cup of tea every now and again! (Although when I started on my Austin at 8 I tended to have a hot chocolate, but by the time I was 10 I would very maturely drink tea with dad!). I can vouch for Kamil being as old as he says he is, that or he's quite old but has some fantastic anti-aging equipment!
All of my service bits have now arrived - Castrol oil from the Halfords sale, gearbox oil & a genuine Jaguar oil filter. I have decided not to change the gearbox filter for two reasons
1) I'll probably mess up with removing the sump
2) I know it was done 8000 miles ago and the fluid has only just began turning 'dark' red so the filter should be OK for now and it will save me £30.

Great stuff. Dont forget to start the sump plug by hand first, and dont over-tighten.
I was very careful not to over-tighten the sump plug after reading a post on XJ40.com about the cost of replacing a sump on one of these.williamp said:
Oh, and put the oil in AFTER you put the sump plug in, not before. Ask me how I know this, I dare yer!
