I bought a £30 Mk2 Fiesta when I was 14.

I'd say your car was cooler...

Not sure I could have afforded to change the spark plugs at that age, or seen the point in doing so?! Looks great for £170 though.

I used to get 10p for pocket money a week. I'd have been waiting a while.
laugh but back then you could get a brand new car for 170.00
hehe
hehe TBH I have no idea how much a basic new car cost in 1985.

Well on or about then, the RR Carmargue was the most expensive new car you could buy, at £83,122. And IIRC, the Fiat 126 was the cheapest at £2,126.

When I was 13 I was driving a £50 Nissan Sunny around the yard next to my Dad's workshop.

Tested the spray gun and painted it multi coloured tongue out

Your car is far cooler.

I begged my parents for a car to tinker with when I was a teenager. They never did let me!

The flags were only there for the photo, just before Drive It Day.

I saved up and bought a Series III Land Rover when I was fourteen.

It was great fun, and I loved tinkering with it - even just taking things off, cleaning them, and putting them back on again.

Enjoy it, and I hope when you're 17 you can drive about in it and reap the benefits from your hard work!

The car looks really smart and the website's extremely well put together with well written English.

Well done. You'll go far.

Yeah, it was St. Georges Day and on the run I went to most people turned up with flags.
