It's funny the amount of difference new (old) plates make. Looks a lot better with the black and silver, IMHO.

Hello Landie fans. I have neglected to keep this page up to date. Since I last posted here Tilly has undergone a major overhaul.

02 September

Arrives at the workshop

14 September
Took her in on the 13th and arrived the next day to find this.

and

Sprayed because thats how it would of been originally.

16 September
How many vehicles can you strip like this?

Where we found the replacement chassis was money well spent

17 September

Then I lost the camera lead so these are between 18th Sept and 11th Nov.

All axles and engine fitted

10th December

Today - She was started for the first time and taken up the road for a little test biggrin. Need to finish the electrics and some other little issues but after a long wait I should have my baby back for Christmas biggrin

Yep she now has a 200TDi out of an old Disco I purchased for the job. Standard gearbox, axles and diffs though (Diffs may be changed at a later date depending on how I get on with her).

Love to see old Landy's on here. I started on mine properly today after a year in storage. Mine is a early 90 CSW V8. Maybe it will be done for next winter!!!

How dare you..... Show some respect... LOL.. Seriously if you were stuck in the snow and an old landy turned up?? how st would it be then??? This is probably one of the best vehicles ever made!! A new defender LWB doesnt look much different today than it did 3000 years ago... Plus you can rebuild it from bits on ebay for a reasonable amount...

i love landrovers... unsung underdog!!!!

Had her out for a run to the pub earlier. On the way home she decided to spring a leak from the heater and piss coolant everywhere frown. Oh well I can bypass that, who needs a heater this time of the year?

A new year update. The few teething troubles have been attended too (apart from needing a new heater for the cab as the old one has burst due to "something in the cab hitting it".

Performance is improved massively and from a quick mpg calculation (done on town driving and country lanes) she is running at 25.7mpgeek. which compared to the 12ish mpg before is fantastic biggrin

Gotta put some miles on her to bed things in then she is going back to the workshop for a general check to make sure it's all still tight and leakproof (as leakproof as 44yo Landies get wink).

Well the old girl has been running around for a few months now and continues to do the job

My mate John regrets putting a 'Hitch Landrover Here' sticker on the back of his Shogun after this...

...Dead battery meant it needed a pull out so we could get to jumpstart it (the Berlingo was flat too!), at least I knew where to attach the rope wink

Been busy as an advert for the Cadets at a show the other week (complete with flag smile)

Tempting me into buying a Sankey after borrowing one for some trailer practice

and finally at home relaxing and running security for the other old girl...

MOT on Tuesday so off for her checks tomorrow, shouldn't be a problem smile

This is also fitted with a 200tdi and twin tanked and modded for reprocessed waste veg oil. Hopefully will be booked in for an MOT this July after a total overhaul.
