Love the landy! smile had a off road course using the defender 90, loved it! Had so much fun driving it, so capable although we did get stuck in the mud, more of a height clearance issue though.

Paul I occasionally take mine for a stroll off piste and the biggest problem it has off road (turning circle aside) is the nut behind the wheel wink. Everything I have thrown at the old girl has been shrugged off with disdain (the pic where I have towed the Pajero out above - couldn't shift the Mitsu however the Landie didn't even spin enough to get mud on her tyres biggrin)

I've got a cat flap on the hard top for my IIa hybrid.
The best thing that I did to it was making the lower tailgate side hinged and putting 2 gas struts on the cat flap.
I also bent the drip rail at the bottom of the cat flap so that there is just enough clearance to open the tailgate separately to the flap.

Now that sounds tempting to do, lose the problem of it hitting the towball without the downside of losing the cat flap, I shall look into this methinks biggrin.

I lopve your Landy I wold love one trouble is I already have 3 classic Minis (and and everyday car) not sire the neighbours would be impressed goes off to seach ebay.....

Off Roading really inspired me, got home at 11pm and was straight onto autotrader looking for 90s. I did my course at Driffield, near Hull.

Still amazed me going up a what was called the knife edge, diff set to low, 1st gear and no throttle applied and it just smoothly went upwards, and then over the top and down it. Although I kept being told off for pressing on the brake and covering the clutch rather than cover the brake downhill, let engine braking do it and never ever touch the clutch pedal. Then go back up it but backwards and in the pitch black at night.

Yep as you can see from the Tilly video I really needed to trust the engine braking rather than the brakes! Amazed me coming down the Long Mynd in 1st high that I had to accelerate down the 1:5 gradient!

Spent the day helping the Hereford 4x4 Response guys doing some training, a 110, my 109 and a Disco 2 in convoy. We got to one little climb that was knobbly enough the Disco wasn't going to risk it, I was a bit sceptical about it but followed the 110 up in 2nd low and I was at the top before I knew what was happing, she treated it with complete disdain biggrin

I wanted to go up the Longmynd for a picnic in mine last time I was in Shropshire but never got the opportunity. I'm not familiar with the BOATS in that area but would like to have a little run up and around there, the scenery is fantastic.

Sooo we were working on a bonfire and pressed the old girl into action



and afterwards we decided to have a play with the paintball gun, treated the old girl to a new paintjob
