After all the work and money spent on Trig he isn't going to play sites or overly muddy green lanes either (though I live in the middle of Salisbury Plain anyway). I spent too much time on my last Series 3 fixing damage from 'fun days out'. Trig's main role will be a load lugger for hay and straw and a cheap to run fun vehicle

cool

PS Have you joined the Series 2 owners club yet?

I understand completely, I've spent a small fortune on Tilly but I deliberately didn't make her shiny as although she won't be seriously offroading I bought her as a tool and in my case that includes muddy fields and towing/ dragging things, how many others cars can. I cannot think of another vehicle quite so versatile biggrin

It's looking great smile But I've got to say, the red door tops really don't look right to me.

They were primered before I bought it (two old green ones were there but rusty). I keep toying with the idea of painting them but I quite like the tatty look, less likely to get pinched.

One fresh MOT biggrin

Still amused they put an Oil leak on the advisory note. It has 'Land Rover' written as the make, an oil leak is a given surely hehe

Leaks are a sign everything is well...

If the leaks stop you got yourself a problem smile

Bearing in mind my Dad hasn't owned a series land rover for the best part of 9 years, are old house still has the stains where the car used to be parked from all the dripping oil over the years biggrin

I grew up thinking an oil patch under a car was supposed to be there.

Time for an update on the old girl.

Many hundreds of miles under her belt and many, many uses including...

Camping

Rescuing these unreliable Japanese off roaders wink

Towing

General van duties

and even a picnic bench

There can't be many vehicles this adaptable smile

(Nice pic just cos I like it smile)

For some reason I much prefer the split tailgate to a normal door. How's that in practice?
Looks great thumbup.

I was toying with the idea of a normal back door however I have grown quite attached to the cat flap.

With the camp bed in it is the perfect height to lean the bed on and still open the back + with a trailer on the back it makes it possible to still get into the back.

On the downside opening the bottom with the stays on means you have a harder job lifting in heavy objects and without the stays if I leave the towbar on it dents the tailgate badly frown
