My '67 Triumph GT6 Mk 1
Discussion
Here is my '67 Triumph GT6 Mk 1. Had it about 2 months now. Still needs a bit doing to it (fixing the horn, putting in a radio and speaker). Other than that it runs perfectly.
This is my first classic car so i didn't really know what to expect when driving it for the first time. Non servo assisted breaks take some getting used to but it is brilliant fun to drive. It is surprisingly nippy for a car of its age. Handling is good however due to the swing axle suspension on the rear it is very prone to lift off over-steer. I haven't experienced this yet and I don't really want to on the road . Anyway, here are some pics:

Looks fantasic, never heard or seen one myself - im 19.
What engine does it have?
It has a 2 liter straight 6 in it. When it came out the factory it had 95 Bhp and 117 lb/f of torque. This all goes through a 4 speed gear box with overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears. The car only weighs 895 Kg so even though it doesn't produce much power it is still quite nippy. It won't set your pants on fire but it does ok for a 43 year old car. What engine does it have?

Looks beautiful mate, lovely.
Are you going to keep it standard?
Yep, i'm planning on keeping it standard. The only thing i may change, i haven't decided yet, is to do a converion on the rear suspension to get rid of the lift off oversteer. I am a little reluctant to do this though as this is quite an early mark one (about number 4700 odd, cant remember the exact number off hand. They made just over 15000 mark ones) and they are getting quite rare now.Are you going to keep it standard?

Where did those pics get taken? I think it may be local to me..
The ones i took in the park are in woburn, beds, in the dear park. The ones on top of the hill were taken just outside a village called Aston Abbots, Bucks, which is just outside of AylesburyMG CHRIS said:
Looks like more youngsters are getting in to classic cars which is brill i have an mg bgt which is brillian fun. The car looks great prefer the latter ones mind you but still great looking car
"Youngsters", lol im 24. Ok i guess that is quite young for a classic car owner. I took the car to a classic car show the other weekend and i must have been the youngest owner by about 20 years. haha. I really do belive that younger drives should look at classics serisously. They are great fun, cheap the insure and even in the short time i have owned it i have learnt a lot about car mechanics (and how rubbish Birtish Leyland were at it lol)I've got a later MkIII car and the rear suspension on that one isn't too clever either!
Fortunately mine's in a state and not as rare as yours, so I've no compunctions about ripping it out and replacing it with tubular wishbones
Think some ally plates to replace the iron ones on the engine wouldn't go amiss either!

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. The car is due its MOT in the next few weeks. I can't see any reason why it wont pass appart from maybe the hand break as it is rubbish (even after i have "fixed" it).

You weren't in llandudno a few weeks ago were you ? Saw the exact same car a few times (was campervanning at the time) and it looked great !
If it wasnt you, the car looks great
Nope wasn't me. The car has been out a bit in the heart, beds & bucks area and i took it to a local classic car show as well. So no long trips out in it yet. I am planning on taking it to a pistonheads meet at some point though. If it wasnt you, the car looks great
