i do like those, the v70 dash is much more pleasant to look at and i am hating the "wood" inserts on the dash, lovely car though and a great colour for one.
Many thanks, I have to disagree about the V70 as the 850 is my favourite Volvo but I do also like S/V70's and S60/V70's as well. You gotta love the fake "wood".. The wood is standard on all R's - if I ever strip the car out for track use only, I will get a base model plain black one from the scrappies I think.

planning north of 350bhp?

otherwise that cone filter is a waste of time I'm afraid
I hope to have 400bhp by this time next year.. Once I have posted up the rest of the project you will see that I went for handling first, next is brakes and of course more power! wink
In that case all power to you smile

really missing my 850 now.

Unique styling, good build quality, nice car to drive.

Don't miss the FWD though. frown

Excellent thread and a great write up, I really do love the 850 T5-R and the 850R albeit in estate form preferably

I went to the ring in 2008 and spent a week in an 850R the handling was comical but it raised a few eyebrows in the car park

Love it mate.

Brings back good memories for me when I was a kid and my dad had a black T5 estate. Unquestionably the coolest car my dad ever owned.

Don't see many about these days, but its nice seeing yours in such fine fettle.

Not gonna hijack your thread here bud, but i've a 1997 t5 saloon myself in black. Ultra rare over here in ireland and by god i love it.
Have an absolute ecu, mbc, uprated intercooler and a k+n 57i.
Planning bugger injectors, maybe a 18t (if i can find one), exhaust and decat, (yours looks mint, what make is it and how loud? Going for descretion myself!) and a new induction kit as mine has seen better days think!

Will throw up some pics tomorrow.

Well wear with the car!!

Found out how to stand the bonnet vertically...
Can I ask how you did that?

open the bonnet to where it would normally stay. on the side there's some slideable clips(both sides), push them out of the way and the bonnet goes up all the way.

nice car btw, used to have one myselfsmile

Sounds good fun, I like the estate but prefer the stiffness of the saloon. I must admit that the standard handling as well as the standard 280mm brakes are shockingly bad!

Many thanks, thats funny because my Dad used to have a black T5 estate (until he got his yellow one smile) and thats probably the reason I ended up buying this car. You are right about not seeing many about these days, I expect quite a few have been scrapped by now as they can become money pits in their old age if you dont keep on top of the maintenance..
