I've never driven the standard RB5, Dad does tell me it feels quicker than his old Turbo2000 though.

I've been careful, but still having loads of fun in the snow! Wish I had someone to take more pictures/videos of it, the thing I was most concerned about yesterday was people sliding into me. I've had fun on the backroads and quiet roundabouts etc, but some people were driving like loons! For that reason I'm quite glad its not my daily driver at the moment (fuel costs as well eek)

The standard RB5 (ie 90% of the 444) is just a Uk2000 turbo with 17" alloys and the cosmetic RB5 extra's - seats, spoiler, trim etc.

The WR model even though its only slightly more powerfull, feels so much quicker than the regular Uk car, the magazine reports were done with the WR prepped cars hence the good reviews at the time.

If you can keep it original and fend of the rust it's a car that is likely to go up in value in the next 5/ 10 years.

Yep, apparently the 17" alloys made all the difference to the Turbo2000 though.

I didn't know the WR Sport had a decat fitted in the centre section, that was on my list of upgrades!

Looks nice, the WR model is so much better to drive than the regular (cosmetic) RB5 take care of it in the snow there are only a few WR RB5's!
Yep, not many WR Sports left, well not many from the factory in the first place so keep it on the road and it should start to increase in value. Well that's what I'm hoping!

Great car, mine was also down at the rally.

Buy it if you have the chance, good ones are hard to come by. Wierd I got the wheels off a guy called jim. Got some S2 steels for it now, they will be going on when its back out for summer.

Haha it would be strange, got them off Jimmers on the rallyeforum, sent a friend to pick them up who was passing. They wanted a bit of work and painting.

Thats me mate, I was Jimmers on the RR smile This thread has made me realise what a small world it is when you're on pistonheads!

I was always going to refurb them, but the BMW came along and I sold the Rallye before I got round to it!

That is very wierd! Especially as I live near Scarborough. Im gonna keep hold of the speedlines as they seem fairly rare and i like the way it handles on 14s. I just fancied some steels. So do you think you mite be buying this rallye if it comes up?

I'm confused, I'm not after a rallye at the moment? I'm In Gainsborough at the moment, but soon to be Newcastle way for work.

To stop this going massively off topic, The car had its new siren fitted today, and the alarm actually works now, which is nice! Also removed the spotlights, basically to have a look at the screws that hold on the lamp covers, but I'm going to tart up the rusty brackets whilst they're off. Will probably get some stainless ones cut at work, but these will certainly do the job for now smile

Also got some Valeo aero wipers for it, as the old ones weren't amazing. They seem good so far!

Small last update of 2010!

Been busy with work, but got the spotlights back together, brackets all tarted up and painted, new bolts, one of the lamps was corroded at the bottom, and I smashed the lens earlier (long story - bad mastic!) so I'll be ordering a new lens/reflector soon.

Other items of note (haven't really done anything except enjoy it in the snow!) I've got a carbon STi strut brace on the way and got some new number plates, which smartened the look of the car up a bit.

So, gave her a clean today and took her out for a run. I've been ill over Christmas, so apart from going out to fetch my gran in it, I've been in bed, not out enjoying it frown

Pictures!

- 3/4 front plate, was a bit smaller than I envisaged!

- Special Subaru Pig (SSP)

Plans for 2011? Well, fit the strut brace when it arrives, and look into getting the car detailed. Apart from that, I don't know!

Very vice car you have there, always fancied the RB5 and generally love the 'classic' shape Scoob.

Not looking too different from Richard's own car, back in the days when he was driving for Subaru.

This was his actual car, now owned by a friend of mine, it's visually stock, but mechanically he had the Prodrive boys fettle it more than a little!

Nice to see a good example of this - there's one of these lives just up the road from me, and the owner doesn't seem to give a st about it. Flat tyres, moss growing in unlikely places, and a trashed interior. Very sad, the owner needs a slap.
