Hi guys!

Thought it was about time I stick some photo's of my new car up. It's a Z4 2.5i Sport, got it to replace the mk7 Fiesta Zetec S I had. Loving it so far, the straight six is a lovely engine, smooth with a fair bit of go aswell. Going to fit a sound generator to it shortly to get abit more of the engine note into the cabin. I was originally going to get the 2.0 4 pot but I'm so glad I didn't Just waiting for a nice day when I can go for a blast around with the roof off!

Just a couple of pics for now...

Thanks guys smile,

Nonuts I hads the roof off the night I picked it up biggrin, I only really get chance to use the car properly on a weekend and all we've had up my neck of the woods is rain for the past couple, it's snowing aswell at the minute! Hopefully it'll be dry at the weekend with some snow on the ground for some picturesque top down driving! ha.

Thats stunning looks so fresh and modern if bmw released it now it wouldn't look out of place in today's market.

Very nice OP, black with red is a superb combination. What are the 2.5s like for pace?

Cheers guys.

Robsco by my standards it's fairly quick, it's a facelft model so it's got the newer N52 engine with about 180bhp and 230nm, the official 0-60 time is 6.9 to give an indication of it's pace.

Not sure what a sound generator is but maybe you could do the 'golf tee' mod instead. If it has a valved exhaust?

Max it's essentially a piece of tube that goes from the airbox to the firewall to pipe induction noise into the cabin. It's an official BMW part that comes standard on the 3.0's. From the factory it has two pieces of foam in it to reduce the noise, but either one or both bits of foam can be removed to adjust the sound to suit. YouTube "Z4 sound generator" to get an idea smile.

Was thinking that may be it, Focus ST's have a similar thing which lets you hear the turbo whistle and a bit of a roar.

Very nice! I'm considering the same change, Fiesta ST to a Z4. I was looking for the 3.0 but haven't found "The One" yet.

I'd thoroughly recommend it Merp, try and get one with the m-sport seats if you can, they're lovely!

I am considering the EXACT same change. I change my mind daily about what I want after the ST but I am currently stuck on 2-seater sports cars (mainly this and an S2000)... SWMBO isn't so sure though??

My fiance is bored of my ST now, she wants a Boxter and she is encouraging me to get the Z4.
I should really go Diesel as im spending about £150 a month on fuel at the moment. A 2.5/3.0 Msport isnt going to help that.
Unless I cruise along in 6th to and from work (12miles each way)

ST does about 32mpg I cant imagine the Z4's getting above 28ish especially with that straight 6 roar!

you should get better economy in a Z4. Having run an ST and now running a 130i, the economy is slightly better on the 130i than it was on the ST, but with vastly different driving - i know do a lot more town driving which brings the average down, and its still better than the ST was.

The 2.5 would give you slightly better economy again than the 3.0, but either way i would say it would better your ST. They are wonderfully flexible too which means where you needed to change down in the ST to avoid some lag, the n/a engines in the BMW have a wonderful spread of torque

Aye, the 2.5 is more economical, but after driving the 2 back to back, the 3.0 felt more gutsy so I went for that one. Same colour as yours but I had to go for the black leather as I couldn't find any with the red leather M Sport seats — the standard ones are crap IMHO.

Best 2 'mods' I ever did were the sound generator thing, and running it on non-runflats for a while.
