Out of curiousity OP, why not go the whole hog and make carbon pieces for the remaining panels?
Isn't the whole thing carbon now?saying that I might make the roof a removable hard top over the winter, but nothing firm yet.
I had stripes on the car in its previous guise and I loved them, might do something like that... but going to stick with it as is and concentrate on other areas first... anti lag and traction control anyone lol
I was spending too much money painting my car and not liking the colour scheme and have pondered the end colour for literally years without a firm decision, red was a knee jerk decision and it simply didn't sit right with me...
For those that don't know, my car used to be blue and I put white stripes over it.... I've basically tried a variation of this theme to see how I like it and after I have lived with it a few months I will get it painted :-)
The colour of the splitter may change, as it being yellow is an example of my indecision lol
I think I have already decided this is the scheme I'm going to keep.

I love this Noble.
Problem is, I hate the colour combo. (Sorry!)
Personally I'd like to see it in a solid colour (dark blue?) with a carbon stripe left in the centre (or offset) to show off the weave as its obviously had a huge amount of time spent on the carbon panels.
But I just feel the mash up of colours - white/silver light inserts, different colour carbon, off coloured splitter etc makes it look like an unfinished project.
Bar the fact in my eyes it looks unfinished, it is also a total animal and I fully respect the amount fo work put into what is one of my favourite cars, so nice work!

few pics from a recent track day at silverstone... was there to get logging data on the engine so was starting on low boost and working up to full boost to get accurate data, car went well with no issue, however it was down slightly on full boost and had a blow from the exhaust... later inspection found that the turbo gasket had failed and so the turbo had come loose.

The front splitter will NOT be remaining yellow, Im pretty much settled on the colour combo now and will be focusing on my GTT project from now on

I might not have mentioned on here but I bought a BMW m5 v10 version a few years back... It's been my family hoon for some years now... The engine is epic revs to 8250rpm and sounds to die for ( I removed the silencers on mine :-) )
Anyhow, you may know the GTT currently has a V12 in there, but I've decided to use the v10 instead... And guess what, the M5 gearbox died last week so I am breaking the car mainly as I have a little plan to slap some turbos on it and put it ina project I have been working on :-)

Unbelievable, nice work Andy!
cheers... been impressed with your work as well... its quite refreshing someone else coming along that wants to do their own thing and put the work in themselves.ironically the next update here will be the carbon diffuser that I have been working on for around 6mths that you have made an almost exact same design in matter of days lol...
Its pure carbon with V weave, I have the sides to make that go under the exhaust exit similar to yours as this is just the middle section... not sure if I will have additional veins, I intend to extend the ones below fully under the engine bay so that it gathers the air... in truth the diffuser is probably too aggressive to have true effect so its mainly designed for looks

Thanks mate, I wish I could say I personally made it but unlike you I didn't We've got a good bunch of lads at work so that helps.... It is my design though, I wasn't inspired by noble martins design at all ironically the next update here will be the carbon diffuser that I have been working on for around 6mths that you have made an almost exact same design in matter of days lol...

So little update.
I decided to make the tub in Carbon... so car was totally stripped over Xmas and I made moulds of the tub... I then buggered off overseas with work for a little over a month so work promptly stopped and has only just restarted so progress is slow.
Im going to do some more work on it over the weekend, but things have started to get serious as while it is stripped I have found areas that really need work, e.g. heater box / air con, some minor chassis modifications (which to some will seem major as involves lots of cutting and welding lol) along with making all the alloy panels in carbon.... Im hoping once this is complete I can start on the GTT without feeling I left the noble half finished
Im targeting a weight loss of over 50kgs which will get it to the magic 700bhp per tonne....
I Have however had the engine refreshed to make sure all is well (I am in unknown territory power wise and want to be cautious) and upgraded some components so I feel confident letting the engine make a little more power as we held it back quite a bit when it was mapped (its running a little over 1.3bar and I have run it at close to 1.7bar in an older piston spec).... car controls the power very well
Anyhow some pics... booked on a track day early May so got quite a bit to do
