Just thought I would share a few pictures of my other "toys"

My go kart - I actually have 2 of them but one is out of action from a broken brake cable

Nice set of elevenses smile

Up close

The quads...These are the most dangerous of everything I own! I was racign my Dad one night and he cornered a little too hard and broke 2 ribs, his shoulder blade and his collar bone. I dont think i have used them since.

The fastest of them all: the motorbike, its a Honda CRF150R with a little bit of tweaking

Then there is my daily driver smile

Im really wanting to put an engine similar to the one from my bike into the go kart...5 speed and much more powerful smile

The kart could do with front suspension thought as it is prone to turning over under high speed cornering so I might give this a miss

Go for it! That would be great fun. I had a kart similar to yours but had no suspension, after 10 minutes you'd feel pretty sick and short of breath from getting bumped about so much. Great fun even with 5.5bhp!

Mine is currently 9hp but has a centrifugal clutch so takes a bit of getting going, i think the biggest problem would be sourcing a decent reliable four stroke engine for not a lot of money.

I also think if I did manage to get hold of an engine it would go into a tarmac track kart. but then again I suppose being hold on by 4 bolts could mean it was interchangeable if I could find a way of having "clip on" or hook type throttle linkages (or even just simple to change over)...

Ohhhhh the power of dreaming!! cloud9

Thanks thumbup

I have never felt it lacking power, it will wheelie in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th with a push. It tops out around 70mph too. I hve only tested this by racing the cars on the road along the bottom of the field... It will tear past them and it's a NSL road where most drive at 70+ mph

Kind of busy doing this myself - I'm just out of uni and whist i was there i was involved with something called 'formula student' - currently building my own unrestricted version of this type of car - on it's own thread 'custom build project - FS style car build' if you're interested.
Also, check out some of the university cars on youtube - search 'formula student eats supercar' they make an M5 look like a tractor and blitz an AMG. Mine's gonna weigh about 250kg and have over 100bhp. there's a shortcut to a fresh grave there if you look hard enough. . . . haha

Was going to say you desperately need some jumps but fun all the same! At least you've got quads and a kart to play with, i can see it gets a bit boring when it's just one of you tearing around a field on your own...

Great fun though, I don't think people realise how quick an MX bike actually is until they ride one - I had a play on a mates Suzuki 250 4-Stroke and that was brutal, goes through the gears so quickly but you were carrying some speed in no time! Great fun!

Yeah it's great when we have all 5 vehicles out and blasting round the track. I have the itch to make bigger jumps at the moment... In fact, I have just had an idea so watch this space!
