I think the old wheels look good

Here's mine, not a brilliant shot, it was at Knockhill in Fife a few months ago, forgive me if I've posted this before but I wasn't flicking back through 130 odd pages to find out? The Silver A5 next to it is also mine but not in for the rating. There was an absolutely lovely orange Opel Manta parked next to the Porsche that really should be on here too, the owner told me he'd modded it underneath to have 200+BHP but the bit's you could see were pretty much standard didn't get pic's of that but wish I had, if the owners out there please make yourself known, your car was stunning.

Thanks, it's totally standard other than the Sony radio (that would be replaced for the original Blaupunkt if I could afford one!!) and being lowered 30mm by a previous owner. I never thought I'd own one but worked abroad for 6 years to save for it, this kind of classic is out there for any like minded hard working man in the streeet mate, put your mind to it and do it! One day. I have nearly finished restoring a Mk1 Golf. Then Im going to start work on the Mazda RX7 sitting on my drive. Maybe once I have finished I will look at one.
My old boss had one. He has had new 911s since the 80s. Always in Guards Red. At the moment he has a 997 GT2RS. But I have alway like the older ones. Yours is a stunner.

Again thanks, it's much appreciated, I sacrifice a lot to own and run it, like you I live for my toy!! Good luck with your projects, Mk 1 Golf's are lovely, I served my time at a main dealer in Stockport on VeeDubs in the 70's when the Golf, Passat & Polo's were first introduced, I remember them well. It seems the old wheels are quite popular but when i had them i found the colour made them seem small even though they were 18's. To answer the question about the road, yes its Wales, road from Penderyn to A470. Top gear use it a lot, its a great stretch with good views of the road ahead ao you can cut corners and push on safely. The only real problem are the sheep!!
