I like him more and more! The Colonel had the car until 1975. I wonder what he bought next.

I shall go soon and visit my friends in the Burnhams, and detour over to Attlebridge in the Fabboceptor to show it the old home. I like the red Landy trundling down the road towards the farm on the Google streetview image.
Please do - pictures please!

Thanks for kind words, and I'm glad to see the other Mark II getting out and about. I shall post a pic from Norfolk, but probably won't be there for a few weeks.

Dear old DLL is smiling now, at the reduced price she has a few suitors and one kind, prospective owner who appears to offer the ownership plan.
Shall be sorry to se her go as she is such an easy car to start every time and just sits there purring/swallowing fuel.
I hope the new owner will join PH and provide updates on a real classic car.

I am sorry that you have to sell the car. May I ask how much it is going for? Jensens are undervalued in comparison with Bristols and Astons. The Aston comparison is perhaps unfair, as they have their own engines, but Bristol 410s and 411s have the same Chrysler engines as Interceptors and are arguably less fun to drive. I suppose that being aluminium bodied makes the Bristols less troublesome in some respects.

I love the intercepter. There is one in a village near me that has not moved since I came hear about 20 years ago.
It looked nice back then but is now falling apart with rot.

Many people have tried to buy it over the years but the owner will no sell by all accounts.

Makes me sad every te I drive by. It's too far gone to save now I would think.
The one in Walcote? I've been watching it fall to pieces for years frown
The one in Walcote looked like a decent project 20 years ago. I can remember it looking roadworthy when I was a nipper in the late 80s early 90s, but I don't think it moved even then.
There cant be much left under the cover these days! I see that the owner treats the relatively recently acquired MGF in a similar fashion, with a broken rear window uncovered in any weather.

What a shame to waste an interesting car or cars. I wonder if the owner would sell any bits.

Reply is yes, but there was the 50% share to resolve as the bereavement is to sort out pdq, if it doesnt sell within the week, I will keep it til the summer. I couldnt believe it when my mate died so suddenly and just when we were finishing the work

He bought a Triumph Dolomite Sprint Auto, which he didnt have for long before replacing that with an XJ12C. He was my Great Uncle.

I very vaguely remember the Interceptor as a little boy (I once got told off for getting finger marks all over it) and its lovely to see its still going strong

Clapham GT3, how pleasant to hear from you. Clearly Colonel Brown enjoyed his motoring. You are welcome to come and put finger marks on the old car any time. I must give the body and paintwork some attention soon as, although mostly sound, winter usage has taken some toll. If finances permit, I might go for a full respray later this year, but this weekend will settle for polishing the car and touching up the Ro-Styles.

Urquattro, I am not a huge fan of black for Interceptors, but yours looks good (esp if you click on the small pics to see them fill size), and the grey interior works well (black would have been too gloomy, and seems not to age as well as pale colours).
