I agree, £850 is silly-cheap for a car like this. Post up some more pictures. smile

Not the best pictures as they were taken years ago on old phone, ended up selling it for £600, was a nice car until someone decided to reverse into the rear wing, just see it slightly deformed but wasn't worth fixing, was gutted selling it for so little but couldn't get any more for it, the dealer we bought it off ruined it, it needed some paint, he said he would get it done, two doors , bonnet, bumper and passenger wing, the guy he gave it to made a hash of it once, sent it back made a hash of it again, sent it back and just painted over the top, lines of dark paint through the bonnet, runs all over the wings and bumper, then he smashed the one light cluster, painted the doors and didn't take any of the fittings off, really should have refused it and asked for money back, but it was such a mechanically solid car, cheapish and a TWR

Nice motor though, you need buy and run a Jag to understand Jags, excellent cruiser, really miss that one.

Here are some more pictures.

I apologise profusely for the poor photography and the less than fitting setting; my stately manor house is currently being refurbished and is covered in scaffolding, so I had to settle for a residential street I happened to be passing through. wink

No jokes about which one is the car and which ones the bin!

The interior shot which doesn't really do my extensive cleaning job justice. Note the wear to the driver's seat, something to sort in the future!

The grille's wonky!

Here's my £400 Sovereign. Mechanically it needs a little attention (although everything still works, just with the odd knock/bang) and bodywise it just needs a good bit of post-winter detailing. Had her for a year now with no breakdowns.

Damn well isn't wonky! curse

Hmmm, might be a little bit higher on one side actually.....it may need some adjustment!

Heh, sorry. I didn't mean to be a dick about it. Could be the photo.

No worries I was only kidding. biggrin At least no one's pointed out the sagging rear bumper yet!

That's a tidy looking XJ40, a steal at £400 if it's got you about without needing any major work. I was originally after one of these albeit the twin headlamp ‘S’ version.

Shame someone's abandoned it on the pavement! wink

I did spot the bumper (often caused by electrolytic corrosion I believe) but felt it unnecessary to mention as you'd made note of needing attention to the body in your OP.

I've already been featured in the 'Bad Parking' thread biggrin

There's a couple of brackets which hold on the rear bumper which rust and the bumper drops - I think that's what's happened here.

Quite a tricky job to replace, I believe.

I likes a challenge. I've not had the bumper off but there has to be a way of fabricating new attachments, a job for a nice sunny day methinks!
