Few Updates for you all . . .

Shifter and gear linkage went in two days age (finally got round to getting some end rods)





Images of the Differential which arrived from the states a few weeks back:





And Machined grease Cap (nylon) and custom PTFT seal for hub-side of the upright

Ok Guys, need a bit of technical know-how here.

looking at getting some equal length drive shafts ready for the rear assembly of the car.
using this picture to help:



Which end fits into the diff - the right i'm guessing, and more importantly, how is it kept in?

secondly - the ends are different to one another, the left hand end (more circular) and the right hand end (cylindrical):

I think the right hand side has the cv joint that allows for any plunge required when the suspension is animated - is there special names for these end types? and are there any different options for the ends- like a flange (haha, flange) for directly bolting it to a hub?

The right hand joint slides into the diff, not held in by anything, just a slide fit, the pressure from the joint will keep it in place when the car is going.
Right hand CV joint is a plunging tripod type, outer CV will be either a spider or ball-race type depending upon the power output, no plunge, likely a ball-race type looking at the size of the shaft.

That CV is held in place by the hub nut you can see on the left hand side which also preloads the wheel bearings.

If you want ones that will bolt to a flange then look at Porsche 930/934 type CV joints, I think there's some pictures on my buggy thread of the 930 type.
They're a ball-race type that can also plunge around 30mm or so, and bolt up to an output flange.

After much uming and arring - mainly because i just don't have the time to finish it any other way, the design was re-thought.





Three wheels (!)

might make power sliding or cornering fast a bit of an issue (!)

front suspension is now in - still working on the steering.

Blast from a while ago, but any updates Mike?

I've been reading through the 3 wheeler threads in the kit car section, and thought of the fs chassis I saw a few years ago at Goodwood....

Led me to thinking about the front of a fs car bolted to the rear of a yam r1, so searched this thread out.

Forgot that you'd made the same change as I was thinking of!

As an aside, should make putting it on the road easier - my understanding is it will only need msva, which is far more straightforward than iva.
