We do not look to buy our stock from "distressed" sellers. The people we buy our cars from are under no obligation to sell to us, they are free to walk away at any time and we don't play a "hard sell" game. In fact we quite often sell cars to people we have bought off in the past.

We look for reasons to buy cars rather than to not buy them, never suck air through our teeth and I would question the "famous for it" statement. We make a profit, although actually you'd be surprised at the actual margins sometimes once a car actually sells, expenses are taken off and the dreaded Vat contribution is made (20% of the gross difference twixt purchase and sale price).

What I would say is we look a bit more thoroughly at the cars than some, so there have been instances where we penalised a car on defects but others either missed them or chose not to penalise and passed them on to the end user.

As a dealer who openly posts on here we are often used as a target or focal point for gripes about our industry in general but I would hope that we are not seen as especially difficult to sell to, in fact quite the opposite.

As ever.....

At least with us you walk away with the money to use as required. What I see as far worse is the "trade" bid on sale or return where you don't actually get your money until the cars sells. Assuming of course it does sell and you don't end up fetching it back from the garage.

Lol, yeah right - if there is a way of making money legally from turning over a car sale I suspect you won't be too sanctimonious about the underlying circumstance of the person selling you the car.

I don't expect any dealer to be overly concerned as it's not as if anyone is a charity here, but to spout that...

Sold my car through 911v at the end of last year after struggling to get rid of it privately. They were utter professionals and I never even left the house. Car was collected (after a VERY thorough check over) money was transferred via the web over a coffee in my kitchen. Looking at the market values at the time I was very happy with the price and seeing first hand how they check a 2nd hand car before they buy it, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them in the future.

Hi does anyone have any stories or feed back on said dealer?
Thinking about putting my car sale or return with them.
Any suggestions or knowledge of them would be really appreciated.
Your profile says London so why a dealer so far away? Or have you moved? If Targa Florio is local and depending on what you're selling, I would recommend Kier at Chappell Sports Cars.

I guess that is why his p/ex values are rubbish.

He must be punting them directly into the trade.

Once again nothing contained in this post or the linked content is specifically aimed at the company being discussed. SOR works best when the car in question is either very expensive (6 figures plus), or when it's a really hard one to value for what ever reason and you'd fear the worst when buying but hope for the best when selling.
or if you want no come back on a car and want to pass on the OPC warranty and try and side step the rules:-)
the last few 911's you have sold and a few up now have all be SOR on your site.

and there is only 1 reson for that, which is OPC warranty. this seems very common with a load of 3rd party dealers atm.

Maybe with Henry, but I reckon most of these guys do it is to set up a business with low overheads.
