Whilst dealing with my leaking RMS at the OPC the lady informed me that Porsche is changing their warantee provider (think going back to in house rather than outsourced) and the new warantee is more comprehensive covering RMS and suspension parts looks like they have realised that there is a problem!
The new warantee is effective for all problems diagnosed after 1st june 04

Whilst I took time and effort to give you a detailed response offline on what to do, I find your updates on a public website - you ungrateful sod

Seriously, did you get anywhere with the labour charge? I'd tell them to shove that up their arse if I were you.

Still don't know about ours as the car is still at the bodyshop

I booked my car (2001 Boxster S) in for its 36K service today, it's going in next week.
The bloke in the OPC told me the same thing, that any warranty bought from June 04 would cover the RMS.
But my RMS has leaked.....and I said that I expected it to be done free as a good will gesture. I will have to pay for it up front, I was told, and then Porsche might pay me back later. I fully intend NOT to pay. I might get the clutch changed as well as I think it might be dodgy, this will cut down on labour if I do it at the same time as the RMS.
If the RMS is done as a good will gesture, apparantly you aren't given a guaratee with the work. With the new warranty, any RMS replacements will be guaranteed for 2 years.
