I'm planning on changing the rear hatch & mirrors on my S2 to the later style Bridge hatch & Teardrop mirrors.
Any tips on removal of these, i take it the interiour pannells wil need to be removed first?

I seem to remember that Interloper is an expert on removing the rear hatch

Evening all ! Sadly that was down to my own stupidity rather than vandalism.

First remove the section of trim betwean the sunroof and the rear hatch. This is held on by self tapping screws hidden behind little plastic caps. This will allow you to acces the allen key bolts that attach to the roof hinges.

Befor you undo these disconect the rear wiper motor, the socket is in behind the trim covering the sunroof mechanism. Then detach the struts carefully and close the hatch, do not drop, get an assistant !

When hatch is securley closed or resting in such a way it can't move, undo the allen key bolts. Now carefully lift off the back of the car (release boot lock if nessacary and probably best ask for assistance a second pair of hands is pretty essential as its an awkward shape).

The hatch weighs more than it looks be carefull !
