If you have installed an Origin B2 in your 996 (or Boxster), where is the head unit and how have you attached it? I'd like to avoid drilling / cutting etc.

Any pictures / comments would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I've got one, it's mounted between the instrument binnacle and the right pillar. I've got a bent bit of metal wedged under the binnacle and down by the pillar. The origin is bolted to the metal. I can e-mail you a quick picture if you'd like.

I installed one to my 996 tt with no drilling. The head unit sits between gearshift and aircon (there is the perfect gap in which to slide the base unit). It very slightly impedes access to aircon control... but what the hell, I never change it.

Wires fit behind fittings on transmission tunnel etc to aerial (back shelf), laser detector (on windscreen behind rear view mirror), and connecting gubbins (under passenger seat).

Ian/Rishi,

I've just e-mailed some pictures. Please let me know if you don't get them / do get them as my e-mail seems to be playing up at the moment.

Cheers, Steve

I installed mine between the instrument binnacle and right pillar on my Boxster.

You can remove the binnacle with via two screws, to run the cables down the back for poweretc.

email me if you need any more advicepointers
