You have forgotten;

Manual gearboxes are for people with beards & sandals who think they are awesome drivers that are faster than computers and bang on about 'feel' - Autos are for people who have limited driving capability and co-ordination problems (Goes well with lady park).

Air cooled are slow, old, rubbish and noisy vs Water cooled are the work of the devil himself and arent actually a 'real' Porsche.

Cabriolets are for hairdressers with blonde hair called Anthony and Coupes are for ugly people that bore everyone about chassis stiffness.

biggrin Any more?

My top 'Groundhog Day' threads, not in rank order:

Aren't these cars very expensive to run, especially when DEPRECIATION is taken into account?

I'm a Porsche driver and some unwashed chap was disrespectful to me and I want to know how to arrange to have him flogged.

What options are essential? (Answer: all the ones on my car, none of the ones on your car and by the way mine is the nicest colour.)

I'm hoping to get onto the Olympic team for prevarication and procrastination, could you help me make up my mind as to how I make a decision about how to spend my own money.

Porsche engines leak oil and blow up - would it be a good idea to have a warranty?

Money: I have lots/a little/borrowed some; my way of doing financial things is right, anyone who disagrees is an idiot.

Sums up all with the exception of how powerful a remapped 335d is compared to any Porsche!

ETA: Oh and comparisons with a Datsun GTR

These are also "classic" threads (tongue in cheek):

Insurance, I have the intelligence to buy a Porsche but not the intelligence to work moneysupermarket.com

Tyres, I cannot be arsed to google for the manual, what tyres fit my car? If i put the cheap ones on from blackcicles and crash it will i lose my warranty ?

The "I am broke, why are people trying to charge me 10% interest for a Porsche - the bds!" thread

My 996 Turbo has 1000bhp and your car is st thread

The C4S Blue/Savannah is the best 911 ever made because its the only one I could afford thread

The "I got caught driving 140MPH down the M1 in my Turbo, how do i avoid a ban" thread

My Porsche is losing money, why is this? thread

and the current favourite:

I have a 964 RS and need to feel re-assured about its value, I will keep posting topics about it until someone else with another 964 RS tells me its worth £250k, wait 6 weeks and then repeat the question.

There hasn't been a classic quite like the "can someone lend me a piece of a secondhand claybar" thread since the "can someone lend me a piece of a secondhand claybar" thread.

Off topic, there's a thread on the AV forum that's on a par with the clay bar question.......

As the thread suggests, I am afraid.
I'm afraid of meeting some of these people and being bored to death.
That's great for you. But you are in a very small minority who plainly have enough cash to cope with financial shocks. A very small minority even of Porsche owners.

If you can't afford the depreciation or don't want to take the risk then don't buy it. The day I paid for mine I knew I was basically throwing away £80K, I am not rich and this was an extravagance but one that I went into with my eyes wide open and aware of what I was getting myself into. I also had the blessing of the wife so that made it more bearable.
Its still F'n brilliant.

I can't imagine why anybody would classify depreciation as a "financial shock"!

C'mon guys, as snoop dogg would say, let's put this thread to bed, it's embarrassing enough as it is.

I think we can all agree that depreciation on your 911 will be roughly 12% in the first year, 11% in the second and so on, with the occasional bump and dip for economic circumstances and new car issues.

Let's end it there smile

Exactly, the boggo 911 is a high volume mass produced car. Even the low volume & very special 997.GT3RS has lost £30k (25%).
