Turns out laying up policies are expensive. Got cover for my 993 Turbo at A-Plan. Very good deal, and v understanding of specialist needs.

ok still calling!!!

So far Bridle were the most expensive, followed by Aplan, currently sitting at £1355 with Mayfair!

Has anyone heard of equity red star?

Don't tell us the most expensive, tell us the cheapest smile
(also let us know if it's for a "limited mileage" quote)

Took a while to stumble on this thread but yesterday got a great quote from City Insurance and wanted to big it up -- http://www.cityinsurance.co.uk/porsche_insurance.p...smile Found it on a comparison site, good price, but came with decent allowances

haha, fair enough!!

Best I found and went for was Equity red star, found them via a broker.

£795, 6000mpa, im 34 max ncb no acc or claims and this was my second car.

I spoke with Simon at Finch - 01189 18 6692, very helpful and knowlegable, I was a bit dubious as had never heard of them but policy is with a lloyds insurer so happy days!

I don't wish to whinge, but there's no point posting, unless your just boasting, if your not going to put *who* you got such a good price from...

1st central are coming up cheapest on my 981, they do new for old if under a year old, but there's no mention on the site about how they handle optional extras, do they allow you to choose yiur old garage for repairs?

Agree with Admiral doing some cracking deals. Just moved my insurance there (LR Freelander & 996 Turbo). My previous insurer wanted the same premium for the 996, that I now pay Admiral for both cars (and with lower excesses!). thumbup

Admiral came up as decent for a multi car policy. However they seem to have max of 5years ncb at Admiral. So once you signed up with them in one years time if they only give you 5 years ncb proof going to a different insurer might proof costly. Currently i have more an 9, well i really have 20 as i never claimed but can't get this in writing. Am i missing something here? I moved about 6y ago from the continent and managed to get a english written proof from my Dutch car insurer which was accepted. But as said it is not clear to me how you can go over 9 y ncb and get written prrof from uk insurer.

P.s. they are masters is intransparency here making price comparisons very difficult. Also the fact you can negotiate on premium with the company was a new experience! Seems odd.

Hmm they actually went up to 14 years NCB for my case based on me providing them with two letters, one showing 9 years NCB and the most recent one showing 5 years NCB.

Had a quote of 680 for 997c2 from Mr Flux , but because it was my first 911 , prev had 986 S , they wanted to fit one of these small tracker things , that you put behind your tax disc , you have to keep it charged up , any one else familiar with this bit of kit , not to keen on that in my car to be honest. big brother and all that.

put my details into confused on a 997.1 C2S - Tesco are £527 which seems fine to me, less than my GTI Edition 30! I have not checked all the details yet was going to ring the guys that used to cover my Elise first, anyone gone with Tesco on their Porsche?

Symmetry do Chubb cover, which is excellent, and they're a lovely company to deal with.

No affiliations, just they're so good that I won't shut up about them. They might not end up the cheapest (though they did for me and a few others I've put their way), but the difference in service and coverage terms is worth heaps.
Hi M8, tried them, they asked a million questions and said they would get back to me however no call or email back.
