I was quoted a silly price by Porsche/Marsh Insurance on my new Macan. Surprisingly the best quote I got, by far, was Admiral Multi-Car. I've got the Macan and my Caterham together for £500. Result.

Any suggestions/recommendations - want to insure a 996T that I will leave in storage apart from one or two trips per year. Max mileage would be 2K per annum - rest of the time it would be locked away.

Thanks

Just re-insured my 2008 997 GT2 for an agreed valuation of £150K with ClassicLine, no hassle, no revaluation, includes European, RAC / AA, Window Screen etc, have tracker etc. also includes Track Days providing they are not general tourist days, includes Porsche or specialised Nurburgring organised events, again no tourist day cover. Cost just over £900 which considering the service I've had from them I think is certainly ok considering the car.

Does any of the companies on the insurance list in the original post uses an approved Porsche repairer in case of an accident or they just use their own repairer?

"porsche Insurance administered by Marsh" uses Porsche approved repairer but they are expensive and require trackers subscription.

Thank you

Can anyone recommend an insurer for a classic (964 C4, 1992, if that is a classic)? I insure my CGTS with Admiral (who are very reasonable), but, for the older car, I have some hesitation, as with other mainstream insurers, that they might find it easy to undervalue because there are no direct value tables. Of course, I may be worrying about nothing.

Ive got my renewal next week.

I am with Mannings and I'm happy but wonder if there's another broker/insurer who offer the same unlimited amount of days track day cover that they do so i can get an equivalent quote?

NFU just quoted £475 for a £60k 2011 997 GTS pdk with 8yrs protected no claims for my wife and I in Kingston upon Thames KT2. Only issue is a £1600 excess if stolen.

I went with Adrian Flux on the basis they were supposed to 'specialise' in modified cars. Oh boy i cannot begin to describe the pain i went through conveying to them the list of very straightforward mods to my car. Needless to say i won't be renewing unless as an absolute last resort...

And Adrian Nash quoted £1,207 with a £700 theft excess.

Nice one NFU.

AIB gave me a decent quote on what they called a "high net worth policy". Has some nice things like fully comp on other people's cars, anyone over 30 is comp on mine, like for like courtesy car or no excess if you choose not to have a courtesy car and also agreed value. Only £100 more than a Tesco's who were the cheapest of all other quotes I got.

Just taken out my policy with Classic Line Insurance £414 full comp with guaranted valuation, £24 more than Aviva who were very competitive for my last year but with the reassurance of realistic price if the worse should happen.

Hi All,

A big thank you goes out to Matt at Henderson Taylor Insurance, for helping with my agreed value insurance on the 996 Turbo S.

Matt is a true professional and will get the best policy and price, along with the best service!

It even includes track day cover.

I have no affiliation with HT Insurance, just a very happy customer!!

Never used a broker before but for hassle free quotes I highly recomend Rachel Parkes at Locktons :

2004 C4S - 5000 miles per annum. Two drivers - me 44, no points, 9 years no claims, parked on driveway.

Porsche Club membership included
Optional agreed value
No excess to pay in the event of a total loss claim
Salvage retention
Your choice of repairer in the event of a claim, including windscreen with no change in excess payable
Driving in Europe for 90 days per trip
UK & EU Breakdown cover including homestart
£50,000 Legal Expenses
No midterm adjustment fees

£292 just for me or £328 to include my wife on the policy. Seems a good deal and dealt with really efficiently.

I had Admiral Multi-car policy. Some ald cogger write of my beloved 993! He hit me head on, no fault claim and had back up from police report. Admiral only give me £22000!!! I would not go any ware near them. It was a night mare from the start, had to take the unrealistic amount from them. Yes, you get a good deal but just hope you never have to use them for anything, there useless.

Having real problems trying to find an insurer who will cover windscreen for Porsche replacement, rather than the standard auto glass fit. Have been told by Porsche that extended warranty would not pay out if non Porsche glass used. Halfords broke my glass whilst changing my wipers and ended up having to pay £485 to have Porsche glass.
Spent 3 hours o the phone today and can't find anyone who will offer Porsche windscreen cover. Can be fitted by auto glass for example but needs thenporsche etch on it
Had the same with a battery change recently and ended up having to buy another battery as did not have Porsche sticker on it.
I didn't ever have this problem with my bmw extended warranty
Driving me mad. Please can anyone recommend?
Thanks
Nick

Manning will do the windscreen cover you require, I got a quote off them last week and it's one of the things they mention. They were over double some of my money supermarket quotes but then I guess you get what you pay for especially if you have to use the policy.

I was quoted the cheapest at £434 off Hastings and £1187 off Manning's, most of the others around £500-700. M,43, clean licence, 22yrs NCB, car kept outside on drive.
