That looks great! A lot of car for the money.

Is it just me or is there a pair of handcuffs attached the rollbar? biggrin

Thanks! well spotted, that's a mounting I used once clamped around the bar... I've taken it off now and fitted the trim back.

I'd be tempted but only knowing the platform like I do now and if I had the spare time!

Thinking of selling my 01 986 3.2 Manual pretty soon, I have changed how I am working and now have to use one of the other bigger cars.

I looked at a fair few before buting it 6 years ago and it did stand out as being a good one. Only 2 owners before me, original owner for 14 years and serviced annually at supplying Porsche dealer, new engine under warranty at 17k. He then sold it to his gardener who had it for 2 years and only put 700 miles on it. I've had it 6 years, and used it daily until last year.

Full front suspension refresh last year (Koni) + coil pack and Pirellis on rear + set up by Torque 21, annual service. New Porsche windscreen in last few 1000 miles.

It is silver, glass rear screen, non faded 996 fried eggs, otherwise completely original, just under 79k.

If anyone is in the market for one and not too far from Dorset feel free to message me. I'll need a Golf or similar to replace it in the unlikely event anyone wants to swap something of similar value.

Boxster prices are depressed atm but you should get £5.5k+ for it if it's a good example which it sounds as though it is.

There does seem to be a lot of early 2001 cars with cracked heads, I wonder if they changed something in the design around that time. Doesn't seem to be such an issue on earlier cars, and doesn't seem to carry over to the 3.6.

My 1998 996 was repaired by the PO, he rebuilt the engine himself due to a cracked head. But it's worth mentioning the PO to the PO who broke the car had set it up with a lot of track type goodies. So who knows if that was the cause.

Perhaps a smaller market these days for the very first of the Boxsters?

If I could afford to run 3 cars and had the space I'd be all over that.

I think Arena Red can be a bit of a hard sell on those early Boxsters, some not so keen.

I sold my PH featured 2.7 (few years back) for £2650 - the price was 'right' as it had high miles but looking at it factually - it was a 6 cylinder porsche, the roof came down, made *the* porsche noise, sounded fabulous, manual, practical, looked great, rare colour (Orient), plenty quick enough, was completely rebuilt chassis wise... bonkers really. I just spent more than that on a mountain bike frame. Hope its still going strong for someone.

Now sold!

Inside of 2 weeks advertising only on PH.

Plenty of interest but the first viewer took it.

I think the price was right.
