Moose, have to agree with ratLad, you have been a useful source of info ....And you're right, without door speakers its nota great audio experience ...... 2 upgrades if I keep mine will be the roof and the door speakers, or maybe just change the car to alatter one already sorted in that department !!
Fronts according to my manual are: 205/50/ ZR17 Rears are 255/40 ZR17
For ballpark figures go to www.blackcircles.com and use the configurator, will take 2 mins.

Gents,
On the subject of tyres whether I keep or sell the car it will need a set soon, I knew this when I bought it, so apart from the FK452's what else is worth considering that wont break the bank ....
Blackcircles quoting £510 for all four fitted which I thought was ok ....
Any other suggestions ??

FK452's are quite a good tyre (I think I've had about 6 sets over the years) however they do seem to wear out quickly in my experience (I have a theory that they achieve their reasonable levels of grip at the expense of wear)
Realistically, £510 for four tyres fitted is pretty good value, and I doubt you'll get much better than that without going the Nankang route (please don't).

Cheers, alternatives don't need to be cheaper, just not stupid money, guess in my head I was expecting to pay c£600 so really looking for decent or better rubber (maybe) that isn't silly money.....

Just put a deposit on a 986 Boxster S. Not quite as poverty in price as some here as the prices have just started to pick up
Nervous and excited now!
Cool, enjoy and be sure to get a pic up here, or link the ad so we can see, one mans poverty is another mans rag to riches story !!!Nervous and excited now!
Be inetersting to see what you picked up and for how much ... I'm already browsing the ads for a 3.2S ;-) I think I may have found our ideal 2nd car for the household in a Boxster .....
Nice EDC...
Thought I'd post a little update having now had Bluebell 3 months, all I can say is what a great little car she is, what started as an experiment as to whether I could live with a manual again (artificial left kneecap) I have to say the car has confirmed I can
In the last 3 months Bluebell has been faultless, has started every dayy, stopped at every 'ask' and handles exceptionally sweetly for her age, my A / B road commute has been a joy and we have enjoyed a large number of those with the roof off, would have been more but with the plastic window I'm a little fearful of cracking it so on those crisper morning where i would be happy with the roof off, I've not been brave enough, but its only been the odd occasion.
She has proven to be exceptionally practical, although could do with a glove box, having installed bluetooth head unit I can now enjoy catching up with friends in what used to be 'dead time' on boring drives and she now sports brand new Falken 452's all round which have been superb both wet and dry
So the current plan is that after my wedding this weekend and the summer I'll probably be in the market for something a little newer / shinier (and quicker ) to replace her with on a longer term basis.
Here are a couple of snaps from this morning .....

Blimey, that sounds good, will bear that in mind when the time comes, Oct / Nov but will give the Indy that have looked after it the last 7 years first shot at it though
Not sure what wheels you have but on my 17's the savings on the Falkens over the N rateds was nearer £200, was an expensive month for tyres with the Mini Cooper needing 4 and one of the bikes needing a rear .... !!!!

Ah, yes, that one, has a nicer interior than mine but I think I prefer the ambers on mine, kind of in keeping with R plate retro cool .....
If it were a keeper I'd get a set of Black seats and carpet set from ebay to break it up a bit, but can't be bothered, will just be more picky when the time comes to buy....
I did after all just get a call, went 'yeah alright' and found myself the owner of Bluebell, didn't even leave my desk !!!

Cheers gents, that does indeed look like a useful solution, first though I need to get this window sorted although did get the window temporarily repaired last night by purchasing some clear medium thickness self adhesive Fablon film from Homebase and covering c65% of the rear screen with it, looks way neater than just a patch and means I'm happier letting it sit for 3 weeks or so whilst I go off and get married
