I think they're too much, given they both have an engine that'll give trouble and they're cat D.

Lapis - I think
x74 suspension - what does this mean anyone know?
85,300 miles
£12,595.00

There was the M030, X73 and X74 suspension kit. The X74 being the the lowest (-40/-30mm) and stiffest by far.

Why am I not surprised that the interior looks rather scuffed? Why is it always the people who spend a vast amount of money on the exterior that drive around with a tatty interior?? Also I wouldn't consider this car due to how the ad is written.

This is one of my favourite threads and I check it almost daily!

I continue to be tempted but as I have said before I just don't want a convertible, and Caymans just aren't often cheap enough yet. I therefore offer an alternative, after all ISTR we briefly discussed BMW Z4s on here a while back.

Boxer engine - check

Motorsport heritage - check

Iconic car - check

Ladies and gentleman, it's not a Porsche but I offer up this for "poverty petrol head" consideration,

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Actually quite a lot about and I was surprised at the low prices. Quite a lot of specialists about and used parts prices don't seem too bad, plus the mechanicals seem strong. They have had a chav reputation but I think they are now getting into the realms of classics and must have bottomed out price wise.

I had a Series McRae from mid '96 to mid '98... Not massively fast, but one of the best handling/riding cars I've ever owned for b roads.

Not sure I could run one nowadays - too many of them have been chavved to death.

£9k for an old car that's not all that powerful (208-240bhp?!) and isn't a Porsche. Not for me, it not only doesn't belong on this thread, but it's not good enough to disrupt the thread either.

My second car is a 330ci with 231bhp. It was only £3k. But that's hardly relevant either

Interesting 996 C4s with hartech engine but CAT D. Also the owner is in Barcelona, location is a bit tricky even though its U.K. car? 13.3k advertised

Be interesting to know when, and why it was written off.

I'd also want a full breakdown of what that Hartech rebuild actually consisted of.

ahhh sorry, very misleading! Another one but 997 with a similar condition + no reserve. Currently the highest bid nearly 14k, will be watching these two and see how they end up coffee

I wouldn't buy a car with the advert written in Comic Sans out of principle...

It's really no brainer. Same price, you could get a proper decent low mile 987.2 boxster or a bit more cayman decent engine. Trouble free driving.
The 4 seats and 911 badge with a bit power you have sort of low-miles 997 but cat D. One has to be into really long ownership, as engine rebuild will be inevitable.

Would be a great adventure flying out to Spain and driving the car back, a couple of nights on the Costa Brava, a few different stops in Southern France.

Can't think of anything better!

I was pissed off enough about wasting 6 hours on a round trip to Lincoln to view a 'rust free' MK2 Golf GTI. A day and a couple of hundred quid going to Spain would probably annoy me beyond reason!

Saying that I did fly to Vienna to see a car, it was every bit as good as the guy described and I ended up buying quite a few from him. Difference is it was something that was never sold in the UK and there are very few over here

This car sold on eBay recently. I was watching it first time round.

Everyone knows Caymans are for Hair Dressers who are a bit ugly and therefore daren't drive a convertible.
