This car sold on eBay recently. I was watching it first time round.

Blimey, good one! hehe I would really ask If hartech rebuilt done before CAT D or after? I mean if the car has a damage after a rebuilt, loads of mechanical issues might arise sooner or later. I'm actually thinking of importing my old 986 to spain or selling here. Part of family lives there, so might just leave there and enjoy during summers.

No mention of Cat, suggesting either just happened or the buyer found out the hard way.

From the description -

The last picture shows the car when I bought it (Cat D) and it needed an extremely minor repair to sort (steering knuckle arm) and everything has been done using OEM parts and fitted by Porsche specialists. I see a lot of cars advertised on here not showing previous condition, obviously have something horrible to hide!

I love Goooold!

Going on my 134k mile 986. Taken me all evening to strip one corner down so it will be a whole before I'm finished! Coffin arms, track rods, toe arms, tuning forks, front top mounts etc too.

Should be a remarkable improvement! And also quite pleasantly all the bolts etc are coming off reasonably easy too, all the parts (other than my H&R coilovers) look to be the originals. Some of the bushes are quite 'loose'!

Actually, looks like mechanically it's top condition. If it was not CAT D, 6-7k car at least imho.

Koni and new arms fitted to one corner, but it's lashing down so I've given up doing any more.
So instead I'm polishing up this set of mint Amber's I picked up for £100 to replace my faded yellow items.

Embrace the Amber!

Yes I have a thing for Polar. I also have a thing for Cobalt. Although Cobalt is quite rare on boxes.

I sold a new 986 S to a guy for a 'station car', Cobolt with Metropole and pretty much every option box ticked. Bloody lovely, but I wouldn't want to have left it in a train station car park!

Up until very recently I've wanted a 987 Boxster.

Now I'm beginning to appreciate the original 986.

Thoughts on this example?

Looks lovely. Nice unmolested 2.5 in good colours, with good history, miles and money spent in the right places. Sports seats too which quite a few of the 2.5s don't seem to have. Well worth a look at that price. I think the 2.5s have an appeal of their own.

Amber side indicators have been replaced with clears at some point. Worth checking why someone would do that and not change the front/rear clusters.
Seems a bit odd, but might just be that the side indicators are a few pounds each and the headlights rear lights are hundreds of pounds.

Just as likely, a bulb went and they then broke the lamp unit on taking it out as the clips can go brittle.
