Forest Green, whilst not my first choice of colour, isn't too bad. It'd work very well with a Natural Brown interior, as would Arena Red.

Seemed good VFM for a C4 considering the mileage, but agreed - clutch and suspension arms may require attention.
Somebody on the Facebook group selling a green one with Savannah I think, not sure on price, he hasn't said.

I prefer the light grey interior to the savana interior tbh. Unfortunately they never offer the 996 in a dark brown interior like cocoa or espresso. Now that would look great with forest green or arena red (just had to look that colour up, wow!).

Sorry, but if that colour scheme is now desirable, the world has truly gone mad.

It's just too much colour. Some of them would be a lot better with a black dash and coloured seats/door panel highlights. I don't really like my sea of pale grey interior. Ideally I'd like to try and break it up a little, I'd like to retrim the headlining in black alcantara, black cup steering wheel and do something with the centre console, maybe look for a carbon fibre one or get it painted body colour? That's if I don't get told we need a new kitchen next biggrin

Don't wanna sound like a party pooper but I would not spend anything on cosmectics... Old 986/996 are like dating Lindsay Lohan. Carries celebrity status, but you'll always be nervous about its next expensive breakdown. (unless its properly sorted) hehe

This was the 'Natuaral' leather I was referring to, although I'm not sure that's the official name. Would be a good combo with Forest or Arena.

Natural leather (that's what I kow it as too) and savanna were the only 2 brown colours I could find when looking for a 996t a few years back. I nearly (and should have) bought a lapis with full natural leather interior and it looked fine. Sand beige in the 997 is a nicer colour than savanna imho but not on 996s.

Thoughts:

Tbh I did not want grey but the car is local and sounds a decent example. I think I could get it for less than advertised.

Many thanks

These really are so much car for the money.

Just one concern looking at the service history. It went in to have a replacement IMS bearing fitted 5 days after a minor service/oil change. Was swarf detected in the oil filter perhaps?

Having said that it has done 28k miles since; but I would asking about any blue smoke and oil consumption to be sure.

Decided to go for this one instead:

Due to collect on Tuesday! smile

What do you think?

I did an MOT history check and if not done recently, needs brakes all round which I can do.

I will probably put it in the garage, put up on stands and have a good look at what needs doing.

Cheers

Just collected my fourth 986 S, second 550 Anniversary. Have loved every single one, but this is the ideal spec for me. It has a manual gearbox, Cocoa interior, no Info/Sat Nav (like a more retro feel) and sports exhaust, 70k miles. A proper analogue car and I think it's sensational

Porsche parking sensors of that era really weren't very pretty. yuck
I agree, it's almost like they wanted to draw attention to something new. Horrible but you can be certain in 15 years time there will be show judges awarding points because they are authentic and everybody else pulled theirs off - which would be a big improvement.

I do like the green though.

I have just bought a 987S 3.2 with 112k miles on it! He's just changed the oil & filter, plugs & packs.
Has had the whole suspension front end rebuilt 2 years ago
Black with black roof & grey lobster claws
The owner has put in a Pioneer double din head unit, 8" woofers & 4" components in door & dash, 6"x4" in rear storage box & 2 amps in front boot in custom enclosure
Has a short shifter, Chrono, parking sensors
I'm hoping for several years of completely trouble free budget motoring!!

That's the one! I'm thinking as long as the rads, coolant tank & clutch hold out I can drive it for a year or 2 for free.... ever the optimist...

Nice, I think a 987 3.2 is probably my ideal choice for a Boxster, better looking than a 986 and more reliable than the can of worms 3.4.
