99k miles but still pulling in a reasonable price, given how long it has left to run on the auction. Predict £18-19k.

I really wonder what is the biggest mileage we have seen so far on 987.2 ? I've seen a few 987.2 boxster nearly 130k on sale but no idea if someone achieved 200k with 987.2 engine so far. Would be good to know, what is actually the ideal capacity/lifespan of these engines. idea

That's the one! I'm thinking as long as the rads, coolant tank & clutch hold out I can drive it for a year or 2 for free.... ever the optimist...
Seems to be up for auction on eBay. Are you selling already?

Bidding ended at 16 and under reserve. Seller wants 18.

Slightly pricey for a 2.5, but could be a good buy. Seems a cherished example.

I think that represents really good value, not many good early 2.5 examples around. Love the colour on that as well and must be pretty rare to have the matching hardtop. That would be one to buy and keep as surely it can only go up in value..?

Have I seen you on Boxa.net? I'm under a different username there, but seem to think you had my car's doppelganger (from the outside). Zenith Blue with litronics. Were you selling up (why?)?

Ha yes that is me, I sold it to get into a lovely 99 3.4 C2. The issue was it made me want a 911 even more

I sold it to a fellow forum member on boxa.net[url]

I've just been to see this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PORSCHE-CAYMAN-3-4s-2006...

Sticker price is £10k, I think he'd take 9. Drives OK, no obvious bangs or rattles. 12 month ticket but needs new tires. Interior OK but showing it's ages. Last two years done 50k miles, so I'm guessing up and down motorways. In my head it could be a great little run around/project.. Am I mad?

No, I don't think so. So so much car for that money - the engine is a bit of a time bomb, but if it's got that far... Borescope it if I were you, but otherwise buy and drive the tyres off it!

Would a 3.2 (986/7) not be a better option for the price? Less risk than a 3.4.

Some people refuse to buy the soft top.

My thoughts exactly! Somehow having got to 140k gives me more confidence. Misplaced I'm sure. Somehow, despite anything rational it's got all the makings of a car I could bond with. I could enjoy aiming for 200k..

Not refuse. Just fancy the hard top more, in this instance. You're probably right, a good 3.2 Box is a more sensible buy, but where is the fun in that?

That £14k one makes so much more sense! In many respects it's better than when it was new.

I'm sure that sold about 3 or 4 months ago.

The Hartech one is lovely. Could be seriously tempted into that (if I didn't now need more seats :-()

I've finally managed to get the Koni FSDs and H&R springs onto my car. Geo very similar to before. Initial impressions on a non-hoon drive home are very positive. Looks wise, without measurement, it appears to be around the same height perhaps a fraction lower at the front as my 118k miles saggy M030. Comparing to my previous Boxster which had new M030 fitted the Koni FSD / H&R (-10mm "M030" spec) is perhaps 10-20mm lower than a fresh M030.

Good aren't they?! Out of interest, what bump stops did you use?
