One man's warm is another man's gold. I'm just trying to give people a heads up. If you go there thinking silver you will be seriously disappointed. For me it is a definite no. I could live with a nephrite interior but I could not live with a meridian exterior.
Definitely looks like a shade of silver to me. In fact, I'm not personally a great fan of silver cars but Meridian looks very nice- slightly darker shade but not quite leaning towards grey. Either way beauty is in the eye of the owner, nephrite would definitely not be for me but hats off to folks who go with what they like.ooid said:
just search "boxster or 964" and you guys would find plenty of topics, nearly 10 years old, people discussing which one to buy
Here is one of them;

They are very capable cars, I'm fortunate enough to replace it with a much more modern 911 currently but can't see the point, except having 2 more seats really.
Quite amusing reading the sheer vitriol akin to today's 718 etc bashing. Would the air cooled 911 beards now rather a 986/7 (even a 981) Cayster over a turbo'd 991.2? I think they would... Here is one of them;

Mind you the 986 looks rather unloved by punters considering 10 years on we're still comparing them with 911s 2 generations newer at the same price point. I do feel we are past 'peak beard' though. Can you imagine the 718 fans of today giving the e-hybridturbohydrogen whatevers of the future grief?

I think this has been for sale for a while. Ad says full leather on dash and doors. We've discussed doors and I notice some stitching there. How do we know if the dash is?

I like that!
Coming back to the previous discussion... the value of the 996 (aside from wanting a metal roof) over a 986 was all in my head. I'd never buy a 911 cab though (not least as I think the Boxster looks better). I'd still love to have a 986 to sit alongside my 996 but can't see it happening. Shame as I think the 986 will be seen in a very favourable light in years to come. More so than the 996 probably.

Always lusted after a 914, maybe one day. Lovely colour too. US import going off the side markers?
Also, sensibly priced early 986 S with low miles:
