Is it common for lower mileage cars to have gaps in their history like this one:

It's just that it keeps waving at me as I drive past on my way home from work. I really can't justify it. At all. Fortunately, the gappy history, potential bills and tiptronic box is putting me off sufficiently. The wife really isn't helping matters with her 'ooh, that's lovely' type comments. It does look nice though. Damn my mid-life crisis. hehe
Sure you're in the right thread, this was about poverty pork, not 20k cars !!!!!

Maybe poverty means something else in the upper echelons but the car that started this thread was sub 4k !!!!!

No, you're right, wrong thread for that, it was posted mainly as people had commented about low mileage cars with gaps in the history.

I'm certainly not in the upper echelons, see my garage... hehe
Lol, only teasing fella and I miss Bluebell, hope the old girl is in a good home smile

My 924 had a 20 odd year gap in the service history. It had only covered 6000 miles and had been dry stored. Never again will I buy something like that!

So 8 1/2 years after I started this thread I have another piece of Pork arriving next week, can't wait but it won't fit this thread as it definitely isn't Poverty Pork, just upper / middle budget Pork, a PDK GT car is still beyond me ....

So where is Bluebell now ? Yes, thats what I called her, if anyone knows if R287XBV is well, I'd love to know, MOT checker not showing but suspect its gone onto a personalised plate.

Here she is just before she left me ....

What exactly counts as "poverty" for this thread? Does a £20k 996 Turbo with A LOT of issues count?
Well i started this thread when I bought a 71000 mile 3k boxster 2.5 manual.

Why would anyone take a 17 year old car to a garage that charges £142 per hour for labour? I assume it's an OPC.
Unit Labour Price is £60 per hour plus VAT, not sure what you have read ?

I've followed this thread on and off over the years, had my first Boxster when you started it and have recently acquired my third. It's been been a good blend of fun!
It is SOOO obvious dibblecorse wants another poverty Boxster. Just get on with it. Best time to buy is now, right now, right right now.
Ha ha ha, it was a brilliant car, often wonder where it ended up, am now looking at a GT3!!!

GreandAndrew, good to hear, I think on the whole its a great thread
