Never been a fan of the standard 996, but I admit, after looking at these pictures I'm changing my mind. Best part is that they're a bargain.

Yes, Manthey stopped using Europipe several years ago and switched to a lesser quality manufacturer. Not sure if it was M&M though.
M&M, a "lesser quality manufacturer"? Really, are you serious?
I'd like to hear the reason for this statement please.
My own 6.1GT3... I had the K400 twice: the first time with the Manthey Europipe version, and then the second time I had the Manthey non-Europipe version. The quality of the second version was noticeably poorer, and it was confirmed at the time by Rainer that the supplier of their exhaust was no longer Europipe.

I can only echo what Rance has said: a MK1 is a peach of a car. I am on my 3rd GT3 and this was the one I have the most fun in. Mind you, it had 425 hp.... I cannot recommend it highly enough: it is pure driving, compared to the 997 GT3 with its electronics which interfere in the driving all the time. As to looks, indeed it is not Porsche's greatest, but is this an ugly duckling ?
