Is the dash not too plasticky without the full leather?
I had a Cayman R out recently without the leather dash and quite frankly, it looked cheap inside.
I think people are saying the new plastics are much better. For me though, I would always spec full leather as I love the leather dash.I had a Cayman R out recently without the leather dash and quite frankly, it looked cheap inside.

I have never owned a car with leather on the dash. Even my S class merc had a "plastic" dash, as did a 7 series BMW, a big Lexus, my previous Porsche, M3, etc. In fact the only cars I've ever been in and remember having leather on the dash are my brother's Vantage and my mates 997 S Cab, both c.£100K cars new. It's very easy to convince yourself that everything is essential and then your Boxster costs £64K.
My sales guy said that they hardly ever have a car specced with full leather, and looking on the porsche used car site there are probably only 1 in 10 Boxster S with full leather.
If you like it fair enough, I preferred to have memory electric seats (with 4 way lumbar support, electric steering wheel adjustment and auto swivel passenger side door mirror to help avoid kerbing my alloys).
Unfortunately Porsche speccing every test and launch car with full leather doesn't help ...

On the subject of colour, I can't decide between Agate Grey or White on my new S. Never thought I'd go for white, but the pics look great (black hood & interior). Thought it may be a bit 'Essex/Cheshire'? Any help gratefully received.
Also, any thoughts on the 20" wheels. I reckon they look great, but worried about the hard ride/handling compromise. Thanks, guys.
We have gone aygate outside and aygate and pebble inside. 20" carrera classic wheels. For this reason only I added pasmAlso, any thoughts on the 20" wheels. I reckon they look great, but worried about the hard ride/handling compromise. Thanks, guys.
Then after getting it just how you want it, you need to leave some money for the Aero kit from the new catalogue, umm black over black and the aero kit now that looks the dogs. Or white or red.... this is impossible, with a quoted delivery slot of late August / September, I'm wondering whether to wait and get it in March save driving it through the crappier end of the year.

I'm also in the same situation over the colour. If I manage to keep the car for 2 years I have a picture of it being a colour avoided like the plague. Also, any thoughts on the 20" wheels. I reckon they look great, but worried about the hard ride/handling compromise. Thanks, guys.
With regards to the 20" wheels again I am worried about this. Dont want to pay for PASM, but worried the ride might be too stiff on Buckinghamshire poorly surfaced roads.
