As soon as I drove the car I noticed the "occasional gearbox shunt" mentioned by Autocar in its negatives. Unacceptable in my opinion on a car at that price, especially a sports car.
How come none of you guys who've bought or ordered cars have mentioned it? Or have you all gone for the manual transmission instead of PDK?
Not mentioned it as I have not experienced on demo cars to date - Please keep us informed 535Dboy.How come none of you guys who've bought or ordered cars have mentioned it? Or have you all gone for the manual transmission instead of PDK?

Logically it's not worth more than double the price of my RS60. Emotionally even some of those who have bought 981s are not happy with them.
Really? Who's that? You'll be hard pressed to find a car with more universal positive feedback. All I hear is praise from everyone - I was possibly of the biased opinion in dis favour of the boxster as previous incarnations I did not like the aesthetics of but the drive from the 987 3.4s was on the nail. However the 981 ticks all the boxes and then some according to everyone who has drove it and cosmetically wise it is an individuals eyes to comment whether they like it but that is subjective to the individual. My head was with the 991 until I drove the new 981 and still i love the 991 but only for its Iconic status and would find it hard to justify buying the 991 in favour of the 981 unless you needed the 4 seats.
Please find these dissatisfied owners as they seem to be hiding from this forum and I think we are all old and wise enough to comment with the head and not just the heart.

I know it's not a Boxster, BUT, I've been driving my Z4 roof down all week, even in light rain.
Unless it's pissing it down there's just no excuse for roof-up motoring imo
Enjoy Saturday lumpystew- I still remember picking up my first brand new Boxster, great excitement!!!

No, no! Still here! Have been meaning to post but have been effing busy since getting back.
No video partly due to incompetence and partly due to crap kit not picking up the sound correctly. Car is now fully run in, will try with a different camera this weekend.
Have fun in yours lumpystew!

3000 km is 1800 miles!
Enjoy
I have now met my beautiful arranged married wife (see my previous comments if you dont understand) and now you tell me I can't take her knickers off for 1800 miles. I feel I am being punished. Exhaust sounds awesome though and it's just finding its throat. .......Nuff said for this evening. Oh and my god it's a head turner.Enjoy
