If its a stock car does it matter if its got unnecessary options?
Well no, just I might stick to my configuration, the biggest difference is the seats and red leather, are these adaptive seats so much better than basic? It is really expensive!

I guess it depends then if your prepared to pay for some stuff you didn't want, personally I'm not a fan of the Carrera classic wheels much prefer the Carrera s wheels and the multifunction wheels has the stupid buttons which I don't like... Really it comes down to what you want smile

Deal is donesmile

Really nice, PSE is a real pleasuresmile

Only problem is that itt will be snowing during the weekend.

I think R18 for winter would do.

Do you know the wheel spec for R18?

Many thanks

Whats so funny?smile Unfortunately in Hungary, cars are more expensive than in other parts of Europe, 20% is not impossible to reach.

I'm new to porsche but had a test drive in a Boxster 2.7 PDK today. The car interior is superb and the test car was fitted with the Sports Seats plus (with the silver rear panel) and they were very supportive and comfortable.
The PDK was a delight to use - smooth and effortless on the road and though I only experienced a short bit of twisties I preferred it to manual. Handling was of course superb.
My one surprise was that I did not feel myself being pushed back into the seat as much a I expected to be when accelerating. With the cars power and torque figures I was expecting to feel the acceleration a lot more than in my wifes Z4 2.5 auto (which it is to replace) but it didn't feel much different to me.
The car had 1440 miles on so a bit to go before being ran in properly. Are my expectations too high for a 2.7 or have I been too careful with the go pedal - do they need to be worked hard to get that push into the seat feeling?

You need to keep the revs up to feel the push in the 2.7, although that's part of the fun of it. To be honest it didn't feel worlds apart from my 325i, despite the extra 50 bhp and being 200 kilos lighter. But the 3.4 felt like a rocket with just 50 bhp more.

Probably just my experience because the 3.4 was a much bigger step up from what I was used to on a day to day basis.

This is my first Porsche and we are looking at the 2013 Boxster and here is my wish list;

Porsche Boxster 2.7L in White
PDK
Carrera Red leather interior
Black roof
Roll over bar in painted aluminum
Mesh wind deflector
Bi-xenon lights
Park assist front and rear
Electric mirrors
Dimming mirror with rain sensor
19inch Boxster S alloys
ISO-Fixed
14 ways Adaptive seats with memory
Multi function steering wheel
Floor mat

Have placed a deposit but there are some options that we need to seek from the experts as we couldn't really find much information online.

1) what options did you guys opt to get you the Porsche brake caliper in red? I've checked with the agent and its in black as standard. I know the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system is an optional feature but that comes with yellow brake caliper. Most of the owners here has the Boxster with red brake caliper. Can I know which options I should look at if I want the red brake caliper?

2) Thinking of adding the door keyless entry with Smart key function. Anyone find it useful?

3) My wife likes solid music system but the agent didn't encourage us to opt for the BOSE sound system since he claimed it is only a BOSE module (chip) to enhance the current sound system equipment that is already comes standard. He seems the expert so we can't doubt him. We also played few of our favorite tracks in the showroom which we found the standard sound system sounds acceptable. After I read some of the earlier feedback is that the sound will turn out specially different when the car is moving and topless. Anyone has discover a significant difference between the standard sound system and the BOSE?

4) We never opt for the PASM, Sports Chrono (although it looks cool), Power steering plus as this is our very first Porsche and we wouldn't really know how much different it can bring it to our driving experience.

Anything else we overlooked?

1 - that's the Boxster S

2 - don't think this is available

3 - the Bose also has extra speakers and IIRC a sub. Between the base setup and the Bose there's also Sound Package Plus. Lots written about these already.

Hope this helps.

You should consider going for the Sport design steering wheel, as this is generally thought to be better when you have PDK.

Agreed, as this brings with it the flappy paddles for gear changes rather than the clumsy buttons on the steering wheel. Also looks better and ties in with the standard interior metallic trim

General consensus is that BOSE isn't worth it, but if you do opt for it, it's the only system that drives the rear (behind seats) speakers and gives you fade control if that's important to you - I ticked it because my options required Sound System Plus anyhow and it was "only" a bit more for the BOSE. BOSE system is quite a bit more than just a chip - more speakers, more power and tuned to suit the car. Most will argue that you'll never use it because of the addictive noise of the car wink

Really consider PASM although if you're not going for 20" wheels it might be overkill unless you want / need the hard suspension setting - really does help the ride on 20's

Really don't bother with Sport Chrono as I suspect it will never get used once the novelty wears off. Yes, you get the Sport Plus button which basically turns the car into a mentalist, but not in a good way for the road at least.

Sports exhaust perhaps?

Dual zone climate if you don't want to constantly mess with the fan speed on the standard aircon

I had Bose in my 981S .. I thought it was excellent, and much better than the 987 version.

It's a lot less distorted at high volumes, sound is much crisper and clearer, and sound is also stronger and deeper.

Worth it for motorway journeys, and much cheaper than changing speakers later (not to mention avoiding having the interior dismantle later).

Listen to a car with Bose, and make up your own mind. Make sure you leave at least a 2 in gap between the rear speakers and the front seatbacks.

your car in white, with black roof, aluminium roll over bar, and red interior is going to look unusual .. too many colours fighting for attention when the roof is down.

this is best, IMHO:

Stick to the 3 colour principal

Black you cant get away from ie. tyres - side air intakes - grills - steering column etc etc
Principal car colour - Your own preffered choice
Accent colour ie red brake calipers - red seat belts - clocks etc
And a touch of silver for door handles
