FYI: I was informed by the Silverstone Porsche Experience they will not have any Manual Boxsters to drive until July. So if your ordering a manual and would like your driver training also in manual, bear than in mind when choosing a date.
Had to push my training back from June (or go with a PDK option).

I was down at the Silverstone Experience today to view the new Boxster in Guards Red, as I was undecided between Red and Platinum Silver, I had seen the silver on a car, but not the red. The only red car in the country was in Silverstone apparently - 400 miles away from me! Anyway, I arrive at the Centre, and they treat me as if I were a VIP, Porsche pass issued and I have free entry to the building. A few minutes later a very nice chap excorts me to the front of the building as a gleaming red Boxster S pulls up. I have to say it looked absolutely stunning, and knocks all other colours into a cocked hat in my opinion! It looked like a supercar worth twice the £50k asking price! Next minute the driver says "How do you fancy a few laps round the track?" Several laps later and I'm grinning like a silly grinning thing! Awesome experience, this car can really go some, as well as handle! So thats my order changed and locked down as a Guards Red for July Delivery. Here's some pics.....

But i still prefer it, I just think a light metallic shows off the shape better and doesn't overpower it. Also, I think it may age better. But I do like the red and if I was looking for more WOW I'd be tempted. Vive la difference! Great picture btw, thanks. Geoff

Platinum with red leather and red roof would be perfect.

Robos said: They cant be selling many cars if the delivery time is so short from placing deposits.I payed deposit 2 weeks ago awaiting factory collection date of hopefully late June early July.I brought new 911 about 10 years ago and the delivery time was 14mts....how times have changed. This short lead time will surely effect the future residual values .Has anyone got a discount or free servicing/extras? I would not worry too much, you were always going to get spanked on a new one.

3.4's are very quick cars, the lower powered cars are on the right side of just enough power for the UK roads and you have to stir the box to get the best out of them. All the handling that you need is right there and when mated with smaller wheels they ride the bumps very well. Honestly I've driven these cars and things like the Elise S and really not wanted for anything else. You really don't have to go mad to have a great Porsche that's a whole heap of fun. I found with my GT3 that I didn't need nor was I able to deploy all the power that the car had.
