Seriously? Not even basic a/c? Even the Ford Ka gets that

All the cars come with a/c - climate is an option.

The std system has no auto temperature control. You manually adjust the fan speed and heat that it puts out. So you have to keep buggering around to keep the cabin at the desired temp. Think everyone agrees its a disgrace on a £40k car

In a soft-top? I hope to have the roof down as much as possible, why would I need climate control?!

So to get this straight it's standard on my 2.9 987 yet it's an cost option now?

Oh ok, all I know is that I wouldn't want to go back to 1970s style a/c cold on then bleed in the hot, on or off. Seems I'll have to shell out for climate then...

Just ordered my first Porsche - a 981S...
In choosing the spec, I gave preference towards the driving experience rather than pure efficiency, therefore selected items such as manual 'box and PSE. I'm sure a 981 with PDK will beat me on the road, but (I hope) I will have the bigger smile enjoying the mechanical and aural interaction with the car...
Delivery is only in November, so I will have to be patient before I can confirm how big my grin is...

November is earliest for an s. Seems Belgian (where I live) dealers have had strong sales and their allocations are drying up fast...

Most of the time in a real sports car you want it off, then when it's to hot you want it on. Climate you just tend to have on all the time sapping BHp and losing mpg.

SS7 I still spoilt myself on other aspects... full natural leather interior, GT silver, heated seats, PCM, PASM, Sport Plus seats, Xenon plus, 20in, etc... Just a bit concerned that I haven't specced Bose now...

Just a bit concerned that I haven't specced Bose now... espresso or carrera red interior? BOSE in my 981 is much better than BOSE in my sold 987 RS60. 981 Bose is clearer, more acoustic depth and handles high volumes much better. Well worth it.
