I don't doubt it, hence I'm more interested in the monthly figure... The spec I want is £56k that's without sat nav can't bring myself to pay over £2k for sat nav that gets used once in a blue moon wink
I got some quotes from an OPC. £25k after 3 years on an S PDK. No subsidies etc. For a Cayman R they would do £37k after 3 years. 60k car with 6k discount. No way would the R be worth that in 3 years.

That R sounds a very good deal given that Hatfield have a used one (1 yr old, 6k miles) up for 46k or so...

Thanks for that info, it sounds close to my expectations. Any idea how many miles that was based on?

Trade price may perhaps be a few K more depending on the market at the time, but I won't rely on it.

I did a guesstimate for the trade price of a well specced S PDK with 20" wheels and reckoned something like ...

1 year old = c.£40K
2 years old = c.£32K
3 years old = c.£27K
4 years old = c.£23K
5 years old = c.£19K
6 years old = c.£16K

If demand is good then a private sale should do better, especially in the early years.

Cheers,

Geoff

The Cayman R is, but to make the most of it you need to keep it the full term. On a 2 year agreement the guaranteed residual was lower than at three year !! Porsche only subsidising the 3 year deal.

If it's built then and just needs to get to the UK do you reccon it can be picked up from Germany before then?

great question, no idea what the answer is.

if you haven't already asked for factory collection for a car that is already built, it's probably too late.

Just got back from Porsche Newcastle's Boxster launch..no hair products in sight..Nice looking car in the flesh still prefer my Spyder though biggrin. Was chatting to the DP and a Director of JCT who mentioned Porsche will be releasing 16 new cars over the next 6 years! New Cayman by all accounts will as expected use the new Boxster chassis but have a 991 like front end and look nothing like the Boxster.

Few nice cars on show including a classic RS Spyder direct from the Stuggart museum insured at close to £1 million and a lovely Carrera GT!

Hi James,

The evening is to start at 19.30 and there will be 3 new Boxster S cars to view with presentations from the new MD of Porsche GB with videos of the new developments.

Canapés and drinks served throughout the evening.

And good news your car has a completion date of the 10/05/2012 so should be here by the 20th hopefully, so 4 weeks from now!!

See you later.

I had previously been told that my spec would be open until yesterday so I called my dealer just before they closed and sure enough I was told it had closed. I understand that changes are now only by special request to the factory. At least that stops me wondering about the colour, the wheels, the full leather, the Sport Chrono, etc..

I have now been given a build completion date of the 8th of May so to expect delivery at the end of May. If it does come before June I will be pleased, as this is only a few weeks later than originally hoped.

Sounds like they are only just starting building in earnest, and all the "April" builds are now underway.

Cheers,

Geoff

Has anyone here test driven these cars? And specifically the base 2.7 model? We have a 2.9 987 Gen2 and from the figures it appears that the 2.7 981 is of similar performance. I just wondered if anyone has driven a 2.7 because all the talk is about the Boxster S.
