Car should arrive at Leicester OPC today, we are hassling them for a pickup tomorrow, but looks more likely to be Monday now...
This will be first White car with black wheels I've seen, and Leicesters first PSE equipped car very excited now :-) Will look good with the black wheels as contrast Andy - We will have to have a mini meet for all new Boxster owners soon - Before the country gets overrun with them.

Certainly nothing wrong with mine on build quality. So i dont think anyone need worry - picked up mine 10 days ago so not one of the first so may have sorted the build issues out. So far so good anyway

I have question regarding recent first drive review of PDK Boxster S in Finnish Autobild magazine. They said that even if you are manual mode, transmission will shift to lower gear when you accelerate hard on high gear. They said that you can not appreciate torque of the motor because of this. Is this true or do you have press some button to prevent this automatic down-shifting?
(They also were disappointed that Porsche does not put sport steering wheel as standard for every PDK car as their tester had useless button wheel instead of paddles. Everything else was good to them. Car got four stars out of five).

Happy to report that the build quality on ours appears first rate.

I've just seen that buckets are available! Gutted, I probably would have ordered them, even at the expense of heated seats.
Anyone with an order in thinking bout getting them? Beautiful and beautifully comfy seats.

IMO buckets are better suited to the R and Spyder variants. They are wonderful seats though. the new 981 seats appear to have more under thigh/knee support which is very welcome. It's nice sometimes to drop the roof on a colder day and have the heated seats on.

Hi all, first time caller on this forum with first venture in Porsche ownership. Have placed an order today for a 2.7 Boxster PDK for delivery around Christmas as a prezzy for my wife to replace her aging Z4. Went for: White Platinum grey interior Partial leather Heated seats Sports steering wheel with the flappy paddle things 19" Boxster wheels Wind break Front and rear parking aids A real HD car as you can see from the spec, so the dealer gave me a years subscription to Professional Hairdressers Magazine to go with it! Dealer didnt have a test car sadly and have never drove Porsche before so i am hoping it's the reviews and all the positive comments here are right!

We are new to the brand too having taken delivery of a high spec S at the end of may. The car is awesome and you will not be disappointed believe me We did our experience day at Silverstone and I was lucky to have a very relaxed consultant where nothing phased him so I really pushed it very hard. As far as that went it was enjoyable as driving my track focused exige Enjoy

Enjoy Cheers for that. The salesman told me about the silver stone day. - will both me and my wife get a chance at driving there or will it be restricted to just her as the registered keeper? It's a good bonus, I didn't know about that until he told me. Astons performance driving day is a paid for extra!

On the subject of negotiating has anyone ordering a new Boxster got any free items such as mats or a free optional extra.

A couple of years ago when discounts were even harder than now I looked an OPC salesman in the eye and told him that not supplying the mats for 'free' on a new order £40k car was frankly ridiculous. I got the mats. SS7
