Buy the lovely low miler and park it in the garage. Buy a second 964 in same colour. High miler, needing an engine rebuild. Do a top notch motor rebuild, RS flywheel and clutch and 993 uprgrades. Enjoy driving a rep. of your real RS like no-one else can. Turning up occasionally at events with the real one will help. Then driving ten-tenths at the next event with the rep. will really make an impression.

120k for the queen, 12k for the C2 10K for the motor, 10K for the RS upgrade. Within 5 years the (still under 10k miles) real RS is worth 150K, while the well used rep. is still worth 22k. If you sell them as a boxed set, they will probably fetch 190K. Think big.-)
Like the idea!

To now use as a 'daily' as suggested, absolutely. It was already a sacrilege twenty years ago - deciding NOT to use it. It would be a double sacrilege to NOW start using it. IYSWIM hehe

Looking at the production sticker (as one does) under the hood, the car is not a UK supplied vehicle. It is a Japanese right hand drive version (C18). That explains the few miles, but is really quite unusual. The Japanese collectors usually order their exotic European cars in left hand drive ....in order to be exotic and foreign.-).

A strange tradition that costs the likes of Porsche a fortune as they have to do type approval for both left and right hand versions for one relatively small market.

The colour really doesn´t shout RS at you, does it?

Couldn't have put it better myself.

The car has to be maritime to make the money (and that from a guy who owned a Rubystone Red car..)

Actually i like Rubystone best, and my RS is Guards :-)
Something else about this low miler - the Japanese market have Km speedos. Maybe there is another speedo somewhere with some undeclared Km´s that belong to this car. No, couldn´t be, could it?

I like the RS in midnight blue. Had a mate who owned a midnight blue RHD RS back in 1995 through to must have been 1999. Did a fair few track days with it and I got to drive it a fair bit. Great car. I'm quite a fan of blue 911's having owned midnight, iris and by far the best ocean blue metallic yeh baby. Not overly keen on maritime or rubystone, speed yellow, mint green or guards red. Great we all love different colours though.

Hi Stephen. Are you aware of the 964RS Database Site and Facebook group?

I agree. Bright colours cool on track but stick out too much on the road for me (and my wife who is allergic to the " middle aged men trying too hard" look!). But each to their own.

£130k for an ornament?

If you can't drive it without destroying value, then what is the point?

I can take this moral high ground having carefully measured my "french" doors and confirmed it won't fit it the lounge.

I had a guy come to look at my RS when I was looking to sell it. My heart sank when he volunteered on the 'phone that he was an accountant. He didn't buy it as he thought the colour would be too bright for him to live with. I wasn't surprised; he arrived wearing Farah trousers and a shirt with those epaulettes that pilots have.

Seems to be the trend... they have the money, our cars are worth more so we drive them less. frown

If the country code (C--) isn´t clear (and I´m not so sure myself, now you question it) the two letters at the top right of the label are a code depicting the importer. Anyone want to check their UK car label. It should be the same as this one if this car is a also UK car.
Either way, I am very pleased to see the car move at this price. Congratulations to the new owner.
